Many thanks Beanie, once this year is out of the way I think I will be fine but its because I have Argos to pay... Now after working out christmas I don't think I will be able to do what I want. I have 6 gifts to buy and a gift voucher and that totals £130  And I need to buy a house warming gift
So I am going to attempt to conserve petrol, which means walking to work or grabbing lifts and chilling out in work. So I will fill up my tank (200 miles) when I am next at work/out and then will keep that until either payday or when Mum gives me her payment.
That will free up £40 which can clear 4 of the gifts needed. I then only have 3 to buy, plus the house warming gift :T
Plod, plod, plod.... I do have goals for the new year and one is saving for xmas next year or at least buying throughout the year!0 -
Im so glad that in the main this year I have opted out of Christmas.

Beanie, I would have been fine except my lil brother got a girlfriend + 4 kids  Plus their birthdays (except one) is right ontop of christmas too. Next year I will be ready!
Anyways bad news! 7months ago now I managed to get a tmobile phone for £20 free internet for 6months and a really good top of £10 get 100min free each month. Well All was fine except this past week I seem to beable to call people/they can call me but they can't hear a word I am saying :rotfl: Which is all well and good except now I am driving I need it in case of emergencys. I have cleaned it out, reset it and tryed to get it working with no hope. So I now have to buy a new mobby
So I have scoured the internet and without buying a secondhand one on ebay there is this one. So to fund it I have sold one of my old soft toys (branded) so I have £25 for that. No internet but I can save for the one I really wanted (£50) in the new year.
The other £10 I have here now will cover another gift for christmas. As it is I have changed lil bros mind and now only have to spend £15 on his birthday gift vs £25
Edit - Scrap that found one for £7.49, you need to top up £10 too but that's cool as I will have that credit to use over new year. £2.50 for £10 credit seems a good deal to me

:j :j Offically card free :j :j
I just need to wait 4days for it to clear and the card will be closed down. That means I have no forms of credit avalible to me
Loan now stands at £2,057.95 which will be overpayed if I can budget it from Jan's pay.
New phone has been purchased and I now feel safe while driving again. However I did take a look on envirophone to see if they would give me some pennies for this one and they will give me £18.10  So in effect I got a new phone, £10 credit and some pennies back for free :T That is going to be payed into my paypal account so will use it for xmas gifts. Fingers crossed it passes their standards
Payed the £12.50 donation for my shoe boxes too today, just need to drop them off at a collection point on Thursday
I am now waiting until my accounts clear to see where I am I need to get some petrol tomorrow and I am collecting lil bros birthday gift tomorrow but other than that I am spending nothing.0 -
Yay to the end of cards :T:T:T
Well done Pap

Woo hoo, well done! It's such a good feeling paying off those cards, isn't it?
That's good that you're getting something for your old phone too :T0 -
Great news Pap.
Might I suggest it might be a good idea to keep one with a low limit for absolute emergencies?

Thanks all :T
Sparkle, it feel strange but in a good way. So glad to see that back of that one, they didn't recieve any interest or anything from me but its just weird to see it go.
Beanie, did you mean cards or phones? If its a card I am thinking in March time opening a low credit score card for emergencys. Just now I am plodding and come Jan I will be putting savings away but I do agree its good to have one to keep your credit record ticking over. Something to think about I think... Thanks
