Ohhh, its been a while since I started a thread and posted a diary entry but I guess now is a good a time as any.
So I am back, after just over 3 months break from MSE I decided now was a good time to return. I am just about to turn 25, I am debt free and I am finally ready to look further into my life than the next 2 years. The reason why I have returned to MSE is a simple one, my friends (many on here have seen me though the smiles and sadness) and my need to be accountable. Its so easy to get caught up in the here and now and the materialism that is out there in the real world.
So my finances are quite good. I am in a full-time job, I live at home with a small amount of bills and pay into a pension monthly. The problem comes when I am left with too much play money, I have fallen into my old ways of £2 here, £5 there and treating my family without thinking of myself. So this is the reason for my new productive plan.
So whats the new plan, well first and foremost I want to fill my isa (£3,600), thats for year 2011-2012. I have missed this past year but I will still place something in there before the start of the new year. I also want to start using my old weekly spends challenge as well as a spending diary. Old tools that I have used to get debt free I now hope will get me onto the savings waggon. Once my isa is filled I will move onto other savings accounts in the hope that I can save a lot of my monthly income until my situation changes.
That's me, I hope using this diary will keep me on the straight and narrow. I will also me using it to keep all my challenges and spends in one place because with anything I love to see it written down and hopefully some feedback on what I am doing right but more importantly wrong.
So thanks for reading my blub and I hope this coming year isn't just a sucess for me but each one of you too

welcome back PAP nice to hear that you are debt free. I understand what you mean about this place being a good discipline!
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Welcome back PaP.
Did the ISA allowance not increase for us young'uns as well this year to near £5k?It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Hiya PAP - welcome back!!!!:T20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100
Christmas Saving £0/£1300
Saving Target 2014 £25/£10000 -
Aww wow, thanks to you all for the warm welcome
Scubaangel, yes I think it did, in which case all the better. However those posters who know me well know I have tried to do this before and failed so first target is the old allowance of £3,600. Hopefully it will not take long.
So maybe I should add my SOA, nothing has really changed but I did deleate my old ones before I left.
£220.00 ~ Rent
£22.00 ~ Bus ticket
£10.50 ~ House insurance
£35.00 ~ BT
£19.00 ~ Pet insurance
£250.00 ~ Savings
£50.00 ~ Groceries/pet supplies
=£606.50
Some added notes, rent is usually £140 however I am helping Mum for a few months (I will get the extra back) and I pay the pet insurance which accounts for the other. Once it reduces back down the extra £100 will go into savings. The bus ticket is low because I grab lifts 90% of the time, some months I don't even need a new ticket. BT is broadband which I know is high but I am happy with it and now in a new contract due to a house move. The groceries are generally about £40 which covers three daily meals however I do have one or two meals at work.
This leaves around £270.00 excess from my income. I need to know where this will be going and I am hoping that maybe I can save another £100 to be able to reach my target. First real payday will be mid January and although it seems so far away its just around the corner in reality
So thanks for checking in on me and thanks for the welcome0 -

Hi Pap, I was hoping that you might be back, in a non-debt way obviously. Good luck with the ISA.0
