Thanks Beanie, I can spot bargians and will try and spend less if I can. It helps that I don't care what others think of my basket so will proudly show off my reduced labels :rotfl:
So new challenge :T As everyone know its christmas soon which means extra expense. Usually I have all but finished by now but I truely couldn't be bothered this year, so time to start. However I now have 5 extra people to buy for  There are also 3 extra birthday's before the end of the year. So my aim is to purchase everything reduced/second hand through either ebay, shops or charity shops. I don't have a budget as yet but would love to be under £150 for all gifts except Mum's. I will keep a tally of cost and real cost and see how I fair, so far £1.75 spent vs real cost £6.0 -
Morning all, another new week and payday is just around the corner :j So far 4 nsd's this month however I did bid and win a birthday/christmas gift but as that has been placed on my CC I will class the day as an spends day when I pay that off. So thats another marked off, cost £15.50, worth £42.99 :T
Now I have looked back over my wants list I posted a few weeks ago and most (as I thought they would) has come off. I am now down to three but I have added one. I live in my crocs and this pair has lasted me nearly 3 years however the sole is getting worn so much that I think I will be going through them soon. I am hoping that I maybe able to justify them this payday, we shall see
Apollo mobile - £99
Pillow cases - £7.00
Dr Who cross stitch - £3.13
Crocs - £30
So at present my CC is sat at £47.50, I had budgeted the £30 in my SOA but I shall have to amend it to add the new gift. Still want to put as much as i can on my Argos card0 -
Spends today sadly but we needed eggs, its our main protien now as meat is out of the question untill payday. I also picked up some reformed chicken roll as that will feed the cat and do 3/4 sandwiches. Finally I went into the sesonal aisle and picked up a lot of school supplies reduced, these will be used for my OCC boxes. So spent £7.44
That asside I am finally sorting out Mum and her bills, below is her soa and what I am doing to change things, I am hoping to find a way of her paying me back my £600+
Income (after deductions) - 819.96 (work) + £120.00 (me) = 939.96
Outgoings - 858.94
Rent - 325.40
Council tax - 174.00
Water - 78.54
Gas/Electric - 123.00
Car ins - 40.00
Mobile payg - 10.00
Lottery work - 8.00
virgin - 100.00
Remaining 81.02
There are no groceries/ciggarettes as they are purchased with the remaining. There is no petrol as Mum has no use of the car just now but can't cancel her insurance. The gas/electric is payed monthly a set amount, we have never got into debt over winter this way, sometimes we get a cheque back in summer.
My plan is to increase my rent by £60 and to reduce virgin. We are thinking 1/2 boxes instead of 4 and no internet. Fingers crossed it will at least half but we will find out Friday. That would then give her a leftover pot of £191.02, if she pays me £40 for the washing machine (2 months left) that then still leaves £151.02 to play with which I think is more than enough as its about what I have remaining each month and I survive! The other that has to stop is lending to lil brother, she has to realise that leaving herself short will not help the situation as she then lends off me (£50 this month) and its not fair
So time to be firm I think, otherwise I can't see myself getting any of that money back, its not a small amount either its all my car insurance for the coming year
Time will tell....

Time to be firm indeed Pap & a long time coming if you dont mind me saying.

Well no longer will I be lending her money until I get all the money she lent from me back. Its annoying more than anything because every month its something and I have never lent like she has...
The reason virgin is so high is because lil brother set it up and then never payed  We are on the highest internet and then large tv and phone. However a month before lil bro 'left' he ordered a new HD boxI am hoping to remove the internet, get medium phone and medium tv then remove two of the 4 boxes if not 3, so hopefully at least half the bill :T

Does little brother work? Why isn't he contributing to the house?
He does work Gem but he has 'moved out'. As in he is at his girlfriends f/t now but hasnt offically left as his stuff is still in his room. He didn't give any rent last month and prob won't this month either. This is also the reason why we are ditching the internet as I use a seperate providor. So its just the two incomes0 -
Two incomes are better than one though :rotfl:I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. Certainly Beanie but it take the biscuit when my lil bro used to live here and give £180 a month and thats all. Whereas I give £120 (now £180) pay 2 bills, buy my own food and sub Mum throughout the monthIts like my income is included in the house income, my lil bros wasn't
