Your council tax is high.
When will you find out about the Virgin being reduced.
As that is a real killer.I echo what Beanie says about the council tax - that's more than mine is and I'm in band E.
Unsure about c/t as I have never had to deal with it. Will ask Mum when she comes in why it is that high. I know when I was looking at a 1bed flat last year that was £100pm and that was with single person discount. This is a 3 bed semi?
Beanie, we are phoning them in the morning to drop packages. Apprently we couldn't do it until I service was resumed, will let you know the outcome of that tomorrow.Your brother sounds like mine PAP - they are a pain aren't they!
Yep certainly is, especially as Mum knew how short we are and she still took money over to him on her lunch break (her direct debit money which he will pay her back the day they are due). He came in shopping while we were there and his trolley was full of red bull/vodka etc and I can barely afford to eat and thats without geting subs from Mum. Its like a kick in the teeth if I am honest0 -
As an upside I got her to pay £7.73 for some stuff in the shop for my christmas boxes, a christmas gift (£1) and 3 chocolate bars.... And if she thinks I am taking that off what I owe her she has another thing coming
If I charged her the going rate of interest her debt to me would be over £1000 and then some. Plus all but £2.50 is going to charity anyways

Your brother needs to take a reality check.
Unfortunatly he will never ever learn as long as your mum continues to bail him out in a misguided belief she is helping him.
Sad but true.
I do hope that he pays back the DD money.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. The c/t is so high because when we moved house in Dec the council didn't issue a bill until Feb. So she is paying off arrears I think
Thats between her and him to be honest Beanie. However if she can't pay the DD because he hasn't payed her she can't come to me because I am more skint than ever, because of her! So thats their issue now
I will be glad when the new year comes, this one yet again has been a complete wash out. The only positives are we moved and are in a nicer area :T0 -
Unfortunately Beanie, she probably won't realise until it's crisis point. My parents have only just realised that my brother took the P borrowing money about three weeks ago, when the poop hit the fan for them - it's so irritating as it now means I suffer because they offered to pay towards the wedding and now they can't because of my brotherNo longer using this account for new posts from 20130

Gem, thats it but I have told her that no way can she lend money for her direct debit's so if they bounce etc then on her head. I do think she is changing though she has given up her cigs and now has only £20 cash until she is payed again. I have told her I will not sub her so she has to make the changes.
Virgin is done :j A saving of £86.10 a month. We have reduced it to only 2 boxes (one of which is the new HD recordable thing as we can't get rid of that) and medium tv, we still have a landline but no package and no internet. A huge saving but it was needed, if little brother returns then things will be placed back on but I think that will never happen. So now only £31.90 per month and on Octobers bill we will be credited about £50ish. However Septembers bill will still be £100-£120.
Also I have told Mum that no calls to the mobiles from the landline are allowed. I told her she can use my mobile until I get her a mobile for christmas. She is on Orange just now but there is no value with them now so I have Tmobile and I will put her on that. If you top-up £10 a month you get 1hour free mobile and landline calls. that will save her lots of cash. So later I will be searching online for the cheapest easiest mobile on Tmobile :j

Spoke too soon, flat tyre this morning... Had to get a new tyre ordered so I think it will be about £50 which I will lend from Mum and then give it her back. I know its wrong but as lil bro has her car mine is needed to get us both to work and back. will rejig budgets later.

Right found Mum a mobile, £30 + £10 topup which is fab! Its cheaper to buy it through tmobile and I think they have cash back
Evirophone will have her current one for £10 so thats a bonus. So that plus a £20 bag and a smelly thing and she is done!
Shoe boxes are going well, found three mario kart toys I used to collect. They were packed in my ebay stuff when we moved and I found them yesterday. Brand new, just not in eggs which will cover the three boys boxes I am planning. So far 'I' have spent £8.28, thinking another £20 and they will be completed. Will see what my budget is like in Nov/Dec as to if I will give a toy to the this morning/GMTV collection that goes to childrens hospital/domestic abuse charitys. Wish I could give more0 -

I know Beanie, but you know I love to give, sadly I like many are feeling the pinch this year. I will focus my attention on the boxes first as I can't remember a year I didn't do them. Then I shall see if I can give a toy too0
