  • I feel rich :j Mum sold her old car tonight so she gave me the £21 she owed me plus £10 off the huge bill. Now I will not waste this money, it is to be used for a gift for the birthday boy plus a card. I am totally unsure what to buy him, I am waiting for the nod, so it will stay firmly in my purse until I find something to buy. if not he will be given the £20 cash and he can go out with his OH.

8 NSD's so far this month, two more before I can spend something. I am taking Mum food shopping on Friday so will sneak a few bits in the trolley ;) And I may get some more pennies from her for her big debt :T

I shall keep you updated :D

  • Well I am hoping for £20 when she gets paid but we shall see Beanie. I have told her I want it soon as the majority I want to overpay my loan with. Its easier not to rock the boat though.

So I broke my promise, I spent a little bit on food. £1 mixed peel, £2.57 raisins, 59p 2 reduced pork pie (for tea) and 75p reduced teacakes for my lunch tomorrow. So £4.91 that will cover two meals and a vat of flapjacks for work. I also got Mum to pay for a reduced box of crips for me and two boxes of cartoned drink for my lunch box, they should last a month if not longer :j

Still have at least 7 main evening meals in my cupboard, not including Mums. So I am hoping I can get away with not buying food until the beginning of September. Also I am on holiday a week in September so will save petrol then :D 4 days till I know what I have been payed...

  • So as I have spent some money today I should post the details... I had £26.09 left from Wednesday, Mum gave me her washing machine money today and I have used it which means on payday I will have to pay that from my wages. So onto the spends...

    £2.00 - collection at work
£19.73 - food colouring, pinapple, sorbet, eggs, deodorent, card, CD (gift) and magazine (!, naughty).
£21.17 - petrol (full tank again)
    Total - £42.90

So after taking out my change for the phone fund I have £11 left in my purse. I have also just recieved my clubcard points. So we are planning to head to Tesco later to exchange them for £10 pet food vouchers. Now I will look in the whopsie places and I may get some cooked chicken but we shall see. I promise we will not stop in costa on the way out or in :D So I will stop by later with updated spends

  • Back from Tesco and did an amazing shop, thanks to Mum ;)

So I swaped £5 clubcard for £10 pet food voucher. I got about £12.00 pet food stuff (enough to last over the month inc what Mum bought this morning), a bottle of apple juice (to use in lunch boxes, I put it in water), a new notebook (spends and calories), a frizbee (for the kids reduced to 50p) and 5 reusable bags. That in all cost £12.86, I used 50p vouchers so spent £2.36 :jI found £1 in the car so now have £9.60 in my purse. The best bit was I got a till spit for £4 off a £30+ spends.

Then Mum went through the till with all her stuff plus for me... 2 packs of lacto free yog's (worth £2.50), lacto free choc milk (£1.36), 4 bags of nuts (£3.20) and hot chicken (£2.00). She says its her contribution to the pet food ;) Also in this morning food shop I didn't realise she paid for my rice dream milk (was reduced so I bought 4) that cost £4. Her bill came to £32 but the till wouldn't accept the till spit. So we went to customer sevices and got the £4 in cash back.

SO we did end up having coffee, but Tesco paid and Mum put the £1.10 towards it :T

Really happy with that and it makes my magazine a little bit easier to handle :rotfl: 2 days until payday...

  • *this is a ramble, feel free to ignore*

Right so I know my wage is all accounted for this month but I am thinking long term. Once I have saved for my mobile I have another savings plan.

When I was at the old house I was depressed and fed up of living there asside from all the childhood/father memories that were there the neighbours were horrid. The garden was wrecked by them year after year and I felt locked in my room. Now Lil bro has found a steady relationship and is hardly at home I am now free to roam the house but more importantly I now have a usable garden. Its peacefull and free from vandels so I am enjoying my time out there.

Now one of the things I have always wanted to do is have an allotment, as you can guess not possible in the old house. Plus the ones you can rent never came up as they were handed within a circle. However this house the garden is made for it. For one its huge, the bottom of the garden is a sun trap and its closed in completly.

So my idea is to save like mad/buy slowly over the winter, get it fixed up in my holidays and ready for the new growing season next year. It will also mean I have some idea for xma gifts as I don't fancy wasted presents. I want to section off a quarter of the garden, remove all the concrete to old owners installed and get a few beds going. For the basics I have costed about £178 and a coldframe/shed another £100.

That excludes seeds/feed and any tools but it will get me going. My average spend in greengrocers/supermarkets is about £20 a month for f&v so if I get only a few crops it could be a good investment. If I get it right it will be great :T

So phone I am nearly 20% too, I will be starting a garden fund shortly so I can save for the big things. Feeling excited about it really its something to focus on that isn't money/debt/work/cross stitching plus its relitively cheap once its going.

I am obviously not going to pay off my loan in a year then, sadly :o Once Mum pays more of her debt to me I will bank it and start building it up as an overpayment as thats £600+ but I don't think I will get anywhere near clearing it by May 2012 :( I will still have cleared all my card debt before xmas though :D

*sorry to ramble about my plans*

  • Thanks Beanie, Mum hasn't objected so thats a good thing :D Oh yes ebay has used sheds for £30 so thats an idea. Its the screening/fences that will cost the most but thats ok as they will last years. I have been lurking on the gardening forums and it all sounds amazing, plus it will save a bit of money. Its exciting, something that will keep me busy and not spending money ;)
