Well If I was me there is no way I would put it the insurance just for that.
If you dont claim you dont pay the excess nor do you pay your mum's excess though that will be claimed by her insurance as part of her claim from your inrurance IYSWIM.
    Have a wee think.

  • Thats what I thought Beanie, I can get the parts through ebay and lil bro can fix it. But lil bro seems to think I will have to pay my excess even if I don't claim for my car :o

If I pay excess and they fix my car all is good.
If I pay excess and I fix my car I can't fix it until payday next month.
If I pay the excess and they write it off I am screwed.
If I don't pay the excess I can fix the car and prob get ith through the mot this month too.

Lil bro thinks I can fight it for a fix because of the milage of the car <30k and because its my only form of transport and there is a personal loan outstanding against it.

I don't know what to do now :( Don't want to get them to fix it and then lose the car. I would rather it be sat up for 2 months being fixed than lose it all together :o
  • Decided, I think I am going to call them and let them know what has happened but not put in a claim for my car. I think you can do that?!? Then buy the parts of ebay and fix it myself, both parts will cost about £100 I will just need the bumper resprayed which will cost the pennies. Een if its off the road for two months so be it... I can't take the chance and let the insurace company write it off. The engine is far too young for that and the car looks brand new.

Em, just playing th site ;) hasn't the layout changed lol

:j Even better, my excess is £250. If I don't have to pay excess for Mum claiming on my insurance I could get it fixed this month. Then next payday I can get it mot'ed :D This having a car is one huge problem when things go wrong. I did a insurance quote on me having a claim against me and it will raise buy about £30 next year, although it looks like my current insurers won't re-insure me :rotfl:

It has definitely. Takes some getting used to. Not sure if you ever did, but don't touch the slots. The points you win on there can't be used for Amazon vouchers now. Only points won from the bingo count. Good luck :).

It certainly has, I am just putting it on auto play :rotfl: I used to use the slots if I had only a few points left to run it down enough to spin the wheel ;) The only thing is it slows my netbook down, howmany points is it for a voucher now? It used to be 8000. The phone is on there so fingers crossed I can save vouchers :D

It's 10,000 now :(. The good thing is now that once you have redeemed, you can spin the wheel again afterwards. So you always have access to points. How much is the phone on Amazon?

Boo :( Ahhh you could never do that before until the 'new week', Tuesday I think. The phone is £109 on Amazon so not much different however even if I don't use it for the phone I can always do with vouchers for my Kindle ;) So you have reminded me of that. I counted my penny jar last night and I have £6.90 so 7% there :T

Just phoned insurance company, they are fixing Mums car and I don't have to pay the excess, sigh of relief. Now I am going to order the new light in a moment £27 but I will wait to order my bumper until I have spoken to a repair shop as it will need respraying etc. Even so a replacement pink bumper is £65.

Going to phone the garage regarding the mot to see if I should cancel it or not :D

But maybe I will sleep tonight without worying :T
