Tootles - so lovely to log on and see your post. Sorry your plans are going ahead but would like to wish you a peaceful day tomorrow. Stripes says she'll come and stay tomorrow but if it's -15 then she'd have to share your bed!!! Hugs xx

HelenJ - fantastic news. Hugs to you and gentle hugs for your dad. He must be sore with all those stones.

Mumof2 - forgot to say yesterday, i think I did anyway, my shoe things came from qvc i think but my parents got theres from Amazon.

DD has woken up with the lurgy that DS, DH and I have all had. She's only just starting with it but I've made an appointment at the docs in the hope that he'll give her antibiotics even if we hold off giving them to her until she gets worse. The rest of us all needed them so i'm sure she will too. Filled her up with calpol, cough medicine etc. I'm trying to ignore the fact I have a sore throat again. I am not ill. I am not ill. At this rate it'll be DS cooking lunch tomorrow:eek:.

    Jobs for today -

    - dd to docs
    - visit to pets at home as stripes 'needs' another christmas present (according to my children!)
    - s/s
    - nice lazy bath for me with NO-ONE interrupting!

Hugs and love to all xx

Helen, that's fabulous news - like you said you can enjoy Christmas properly now.

Toots, lovely to see you posting my love - we've all missed you. Sorry you won't be away, snuggle up at home nice and warm (with no bugs around!)

Juliejim, great news about the keys!

Just got up :o - didn't have peace whilst I had my lie-in though as DS wanted to play hide and seek and I wouldn't get up so I just hid under the covers. Oh and then he wanted to play tents so again under the covers we went and he pretended to be a monster - very scary!!!!

    Catch you later xx

Great to hear from you toots. Hope your treatment hasn't exhausted you too much and that you've got food and heating sorted out for yourself! As you say, Christmas isn't a time for making decisions on these things, so we've agreed to leave it until after the holidays.

Greenbee - I struggled with the chocolate too, just couldn't get the kitchen temp right so I went with truffles. DH took them to work this morning so I need to make some more up later, probably freeze them if Granny isn't here to guzzle. I sent DS1 out for greenery yesterday and they made some pretty displays with church candles on some big gold chargers so thanks for that idea.
Glad the greenery idea helped. I need to make sure that christmas greenery is a consideration when planning the next phase of the garden (or the next garden). As for the chocolates, I've pretty much got the hang of it (to be fair, I did spend a day at a class learning to make them!), so if you want me to go through it with you I'm free from about 11 today. Alternatively, it can wait until after christmas if you'll have more time...
and my lemon zester, middle round pastry cutter, and most bizarrely, my best Mermaid baking sheet - that's too big to have slipped down behind something *shruggy man smilie* :o
and all my work makeup... (actually, I think I must have left this in San Diego, but can't quite work out how :o)

Dog walked, breakfast eaten, another batch of chocolates done (orange & cointreau) Now... do I have enough time to get one more batch of chocolates in the fridge before my 10am work call? I want to do white chocolate filled with creme de marrons...

After that I might think about florentines - how long did they take you hex (the baking, not the chocolate bit, I've got LOTS of melted choc on the go!)?
  • Good morning everyone,

Couple of minutes to throw together, 7 in the oven, then pallet knife off after 5 mins cooling. 20 mins all in?

I am going to force the boys to go for a walk - we are going stir crazy now.

Odd not to be flapping around in a panic by now - I feel like something is missing :o.

There's really only dot-to-dotting left :) so I've tidied the kitchen (pretty much a constant thing with teens in the house :o ) sorted the animals, and put all things lying around into my wicker basket for people to claim :p

    I'll join you at 10 :j
