    I
Greenbee - well done on decorating the house; I'd just put the lights up and not bother with the tree
    That's the plan :)

I've got a few bits out - red cyclamen in an aluminium pot with fake berry garlands round the bottom on the kitchen window sill, and mini red plant pots with gold candles and those christmas rings that go round candles on them next to it. A new solanum in the loo (I normally have an aloe in there. Star lights in the kitchen window (actually, they live there, but I've put them on). A white cyclamen on the chest of drawers in the hall (aluminium pot and garland round the bottom), and a poinsettia on the hall floor next to the chair I keep under the coat hooks. Presents for visitors are lined up next to this, with my mum's present (lots of bits in a trug with ribbons on) on the chair and lights round the coat hooks. Red cyclamen in the stair window. Poinsettia in an aluminium pot on the blanket chest in front of the sitting room french windows, with candles either side, lights with a berry garland hanging down the side of the bookcase, cards up on the surfaces, and 4 mini christmas trees on the window sill (not sure about these at the moment). Not enough greenery in the garden to use, but I'll have to see what I can do with some oranges, clementines and the rest of the decorations.

I've got one work call tomorrow morning (I need to do a client email that was due this morning before I go to bed to :o), and then it's frantic cleaning up so that the disorganised decorating looks deliberately understated by the time everyone arrives!

Gift bags - £1 stores even sell them

SOCKDRAWER bubble tubes http://www.experia-innovations.co.uk/products/34/Bubble-Tubes http://www.thesensorycompany.co.uk/catalog/productslist.aspx?CategoryID=10&selection=4 for expert stuff, http://www.specialneedstoys.com/uk/ is quite a bit cheaper or you can get cheaper ones on ebay etc, making sure the light is the right colour for her can really help

My very lovely friend who I've been helping through some not so good divorce stuff has just dropped me off a Xmas present, totally unexpected. Huge french connection leather bag filled with bath time goodies. I'm a tad embarrassed as I hadn't bought her anything, but I think she understands we're a bit skint at the mo. She got presents for DP too who has also been helping her out a lot. Bless her it's warmed me no end. I'm going to see if I can pull something together for her birthday which is next week.

Anyway she gave me an interlude as I was flinging and cleaning, getting SOOOOO bored! I've refilled the bin already and have a huge box of recyclable stuff too. I've given up getting the boys to help as they have become more hassle than they are worth bothering for, what a moany pair I have today especially with DS2 having cold he's just meeeeeehhhh all the time. So I'm going to march them round picking up the things they have left behind then march them to bed!

Living room/dining room needs - few bits picking up, sock basket upstairs, cardboard recycling box to garage, few bits off the coffee table, dinner plates in the kitchen, tidy wall unit, tidy TV cabinet, sort paperwork pile, dusting, then DP said he will vacuum tomorrow (it needs carrying from upstairs and I've done my shoulder again when I did a Bambi)

Lets see what I can get done (apart from cardboard to garage as not doing a bambi in the dark) 8-8.30pm......late HHC anyone?
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb

Thank You to Piggers for the lists, to Soappie for support over the past 2 Christmases this is the most organised and thus relaxed and well I have been at christmas since before I had the boys.

Seconded! Thanks also to toots, whose posts I miss at the moment.
It's only my second Christmas on here and I'm embarrassed to say that the house isn't much better, but my attitude towards it is changing and I seem to be a bit more organised. I'm determined to enjoy Christmas this year.

Thorntons had to admit that the courier (Hermes) don't know where my parcel is at the moment. I finally spoke to a sensible person who left her name and phoned me back when she said she would. I'm expecting a call in the morning and there's a faint chance that I'll still get my parcel. If not, I'll have to try and source some chocs. The Approved Food order shows as next day delivery on the tracking, so that should be ok.

I'm still battling with the last hotspot - it's a persistent one, but I'll get there. Just stopped for some food and getting a coffee now, then I'll carry on. DS1 probably not well, as he's not eaten properly yet and isn't hungry. I'd hoped to wrap tonight, so I really need to get the room, cards and tree sorted soon. I hope there's something good on telly in the early hours...

Just had my Waitrose delivery, most stuff in stock. Delivery driver said i'm the only nice customer he's had so far tonight:eek: Bless, they're only doing their job. I hate people who are rude to front of house staff. Or rude to anyone actually...

Need to get my bones to the doctors tomorrow, feeling properly rubbish:( Only doing some wrapping then having an early night.

MrsC.. if it is a large box Hermes contract it out so might not have it even though the site may say they do.

Thanks, pigpen. Two hampers would make quite a large parcel, I expect. However, if they have contracted the delivery to someone else, they should at least know where my bloomin' parcel is. They've had it since Sunday and the roads here have been fine, so no reason really not to get it out. You'd have thought that food items take priority.
The tracking on the website doesn't work, so I'm relying on info from Thorntons customer services.
  • Notes to self:

Cards - all posted or delivered
Presents - all bought, wrapped, delivered or under the tree
Laundry - everything washed, ironed and put away
Food - all cupboards, fridge and freezer full. All baking done.
Turkey - butcher delivering tomorrow morning
House - everything looks very Christmasy. All nice and tidy and just needs S&S & vacuumed tomorrow.

Food prep to do and trifle to make tomorrow

I've never ever been this organised in the past. Thank you so much to pigpen, toots and all at FCC for all your hard work.

    :xmastree::xmassign::xmassmile:rudolf: MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE:rudolf::xmassmile:xmassign::xmastree:
