Nup, these ones are filled with water rather than oil and water iyswim. They're just clear tubes.

EDIT I just googled "bubble tube fish" and it's come up with the name... I didn't belive it would. A bubble fish lamp..... DOH

Off to prepare something to eat and to sort out DS1&2 who keep arguing.

I've made the custard for the trifle, completed the bottom layer of the trifle and waiting for the frozen fruits to defrost (have been in the freezer for over a year and still in date!).

Made Jamie's make ahead gravy to avoid the rush to make it on the day - tastes lovely and will be finished off the Christmas Day

Halfway through making stuffing then onto a pavlova base and cranberry sauce and apple sauce then nearly all done and prepped - might get round to some flying then!

I ahve driven all around North derbyshire (feels like) delivering cards...

I have collected a late birthday gift so shall drink it shortly ;)

re the gift bags - people are starting,in my circle , to hand over a gift in a gift bag saying 'I've not written on the tag so you can use it again!

went to HMV to get BiL a gift voucher which I bought (partly) using DD's HMV voucher;). The queue was allthe way around the shop - have to hand it to the staff though - every till was open and the queue moved rapidly. Mind you, by th time I got to the tills I had picked up a Cd (Ian Dury's Greatest hits) as they were on 2 for a £10 DD found one too.

tomorrow I shall be nmostly cleaning

Awwww Dusty..... :o I'm just glad to have been of help. I'm also glad you're feeling relaxed and in control - that's what makes Christmas good - relaxing and just going with the flow. Hey, if the gravy isn't quite up to scratch or the carrots are over done, it doesn't ACTUALLY matter.

What matters is the spirit of Christmas - the giving of love and presents and feasting with friends and loved ones (oh and gin or brandy are good Christmas spirits too!) not forgetting that the reason we celebrate is because of whose birthday it nominally is (I say nominally because it's not proven that 25th December was The Day) and all He stood for. But I won't go all religious on you!

And thanks for the card by the way and to others who have sent me one. I have been remiss, but it doesn't mean I'm not thinking of you all!

Fridges sorted out. Have managed, with a bit of judicious organising to stuff it all in without resorting to outside storage. Have also made a beef stew from the nub end of the large piece of Topside I bought from Sainsbury (half price) last weekend.

Off to feed the menagerie and then tidy up a bit before eating said beef stew.

I'm so chilled it's unbelievable and it's all thanks to you guys for helping me to get organised. I walked Pip earlier then jumped in the shower so have been in my PJs and long woolly cardigan since 5.30 - dead sexy me ;);)!!

DD just doing a piano concert for us, DS did a jigsaw, DH been in bed most of the day but is just now surfacing. I've done a fair bit of DH's merino scarf but no way will it be ready by Saturday - I've probably done about a third of it (2 feet).

Off to get the kids' PJs now but should be back later. Hugs to all x
