It seems that spending a lot of money with Next doesn't guarantee you a slot. I only spend around £100 throughout the year but still receive VIP invites. Think they're trying to encourage me to spend more

I think it's probably a random thing! It seems there are people on here who owe with slots, and people on here who pay off their monthly bill with slots!

I honestly don't think there's a conspiracy. I think as long as 'you' meet the criteria then you have a chance.

I was told that even being a day late with a payment can invalidate eligibility for a 12 month period for VIP slots, as can any other defaults like late returns etc.

I had not even thought of that, but its right enough, if thats how they do it, I always pay mine off, every month, sometimes I get a slot, sometimes I dont, my sister is the same so we often share.
I never even open the book, but I know that if I dont get, and pay for, the books then I dont get a slot.
Love your Mum, you'll never get another one when she's gone.

As I mentioned earlier, I only bought one thing this year from the Next directory, nothing else on my card, and I haven't even received the item yet as it's on a delay, so I don't know what the criteria is because I received a VIP invite and have done every year. My balance is quite low, so they are probably hoping it will go up dramatically again when I order during the VIP invite hours. I do make my payments early, have never been late and receive the directories (although I am never sent the Summer Brochures for some reason).

no-one knows what their criteria is

ive always had an invite, and tbh only buy from them in the sale. i could prob count on one hand the number of items i have bought, that were full price (and then, only if i could get free delivery)

i have been having the directory delivered since it more or less began, i pay my bill off every month, and actually hadnt ordered from them for about a year, until last week, when i used the Bounty £10 offer. prior to that, i think the last order i placed, was in the sale this time, last year - ordered about £300 worth of stuff, and sent £250 of it back

so all i can say, is their selection process must be really random, but maybe once you are on the list, you stay there

Thanks for reminding me OP, l seem to have one! I don't buy alot full price and always pay by direct debit in full when the statement comes in. I didn't have a slot for the last two sales as the time before they didn't have alot in and l didn't bother logging in so they bumped me off the list.

I must be in their good books again :rotfl:

    Happy moneysaving all.

fingers crossed you get them!! I've been trying to order a top for the last couple of weeks that has constantly been OOS... looking through the preview today, it's on there reduced to £10!!!!! I really hope it's still there when I come to order it!

Does anyone know how quick they deliver items from the winter sale? I know in the t's & c's it says no items will be delivered before the 28th December, but I am sure I have read on here in past sales that people have actually received some items within a day or two.
