Next VIP slots 2010

Am so excited. Have a slot at 7.30! My first ever (have been a customer for 4 years).
Am guessing there will be quite a lot of stuff gone by that point, but from those of you who've done this before are there any hints/tips on getting what you want?
Is it best to buy 2 or 3 things at a time, then checking out before you go for another two or 3? Do they let you combine all your orders afterwards so you only have one delivery charge? Or is that me just being cheeky?
Can you fill your basket before your allotted time and then just checkout when you get to your time?
Sorry if these have all been covered for previous sales but I am a novice!
Thanks!0 -
it's prob best to do your most "wanted" list first, then do additional orders. In the past they have combined the delivery charges and only charged you once. Filling your basket before the sale starts doesn't work as far as i'm aware. You can use the "quickshop" function though where you just type in the item number instead of going through everything.0

Debenhams are a frikking nightmare to shop with and I'll personally never use them again. There is no way you can compare the 2.
I was overcharged and had the biggest headache ever geting the money that the CS said they could see I had been overcharged but they could not refund for me, I had to write to HO in he end. Worst company EVER.0 -
It does amaze me how many people are saying "I meet the criteria, why haven't I been picked", so do millions of others, not everyone can get a VIP slot. Or some are saying they got a directory just so they could get a slot and are now angry, some customers have been getting directories for donkey's years (long before we all shopped online) and some of them will never have had a VIP invite. If you confirmed your interest in the sale that is all you did, you did not confirm that you would definately get a VIP invite as some people seem to think.
Probably because you would think they would reward the fact you've been a long standing customer (I guess more than 10 years now) who pays their bills on time and in full each time. In fact, I think the only time I have had an invite was just one time when I was paying monthly for some furniture.
Ah, I think just hit the nail on the head. How many of you with invites pay the bill off straightaway without incurring any interest? Maybe they are not 'making' any money [in interest] out of customers like me so do not want our custom anyway. Interesting thought.0 -
I have just been reading through the posts and cant believe how many people have thrown their dummy out of the pram about this.
All those who have called them in a temper and told them to cancel their accounts may well have gotten a time slot in the next lot of e mails going out, I only got mine 10 mins ago!!!
No, go read again as you've made yourself look a bit silly now. After clicking a link to 'express an interest' that was shown on our account page, it turned out that we was actually going to be sent directories at a cost of almost £4 each. Bit of a cynical ploy of Next to get more people having directories.
I do not want a directory thanks so I have called up and told them to cancel it - as everyone is able to do. You do not have to have one and anyone can cancel them - I do not want 10 massive directories delivered each year - sometimes 2 at a time - it is a waste of money and a waste of paper.
As I say, I will shop elsewhere. Most of the stuff I got from last year was from the 'What Was You Thinking' Range so went back anyway.0 -
I've been looking through and found loads. Has anyone else noticed some things are already disappearing? A light fitting I had my eye on has gone.0

I haven't had an invite this year. I usually do but don't use it...this year there was loads of stuff I wanted but keep logging in to account but nothing there. Typical.0

I noticed that too. The Homeware section had 102 pages now it has 101. How has that happened?
I am lucky tho, my DIL works in Next and always lets me know if there is anything that might interest me in the sale.0
