I need to book a room 2 adults 3 children. Do you reckon I could get the 3rd child aged 8 in OK or would I need 2 rooms?

    i think you'll need 2 rooms.

We have 3 kids but there 8, 3, and 13 months old, and our 13 month old still sleeps with us, so no need for a bed for her but if your kids are any older you'll be extremely cramped as theres no room for anymore beds.

As the kids bed is basically a sofa with a pull pit mattress making it 2 beds, and once there pulled out theres not much room to move.

You have to smuggle one in lol

We do it all the time but best prime your kids first.

Eg 2 boys, couple of years apart, dress them in the same colour sweatshirt then bring in one with you and a suitcase.

Then go get partner and the other 2, incl boy in same colour swaetshirt, you get my drift.

The pull out bed + mattress from real 2nd bed + bolster side by side make a good unit for 3 kids to sleep on (stand the bed base on its side).

I have stayed in a family room before so know how cramped they can be but it's just 1 night after a Bieber concert so wondered if I could get her in under the radar & she could snuggle in with us. No £9 on offer otherwise I'd not hesitate for fear of being caught out.

You won't get caught if you have one kid old enough to leave on his/her own watching TV whilst you wait 5 mins and go get the others.

I don't think TL care too much either, just don't make it too obvious

I've always had plan B in mind which was - if challenged at Reception or in the room - to say: 'oh, I'm not staying here tonight, it's just my wife and the 3 kids'.

Presumably not in my jimjams lol

We have an 8, 5 and 2 year old and tend to get 2 rooms now. When the youngest was under 2 we would just ask for a cot and use one room as they did allow 2 adults + 2 children + cot but now Travelodge state the maximum occupancy of a room is 2 adults + 2 children. I figure it's better to pay £9 or £19.50 or whatever now than have a staff member try to get us to pay for an extra room at a walk-in rate (this happened to my brother in a Premier Inn).

Having said that, they don't generally seem to check but I would hate the subterfuge involved in smuggling one of the kids in! If it doesn't bother you, and you don't mind taking a chance I'd say there is generally room for an extra blow-up bed if you have one.

Yes you do you can put them all in your basket separately, then pay for them alltogether.

Travelodge never seem to check how many people are staying in a room, even at check in they don't ask how many occupants there are, or they never have done when I have checked in.

Not even when you go to reception and ask for extra duvets, towels and pillows.
