A word of warning for those with babies needing cots.

Best to check with the hotel just before your stay to make sure they are available.

T/Lodge left a phone message at 2pm (when I was half way there) saying they couldn't provide a cot, even though I had booked the room 2 weeks before. I really don't know what they expected me to do. I managed to persuade them that they ought to sort it out, and in the end they did, but it was stress we didn't need.

They apparently only had two cots in the whole "hotel" !

Given that the cheapest rooms are now £19 (as of 10 minutes ago), if it's a weekend family break you're after, I'd go Premier Inn for £29/night. By taking up the free breakfast for children offer, it won't cost you much more in total anyway.
  • Thanks for your help I booked Stonedale in the end as I like to have my car so I can go and leave as I wish, plus when I checked the reviews for the central one they were appauling! I always expect to see some bad reviews for travelodges as people seem to go expecting a 5 star hotel for £9 sometimes, so I always take them with a pinch of salt but nearly every one was negative. Whereas with the stonedale being new and in a little retail complex sounded much nicer :D. I dont mind having to drive in to liverpool and pay parking because I would only do that if I was to travel from home (Manchester) which was the original plan anyway.
  • hmm not happy, got an email from travelodge late last night saying that they hadn't added any rooms august-december (when i wanted them) on the first day (when i checked a few times) and that they were now available, so i checked this morning when i picked up my email and the sale had ended! would have thought they'd at least extend the sale so that we'd have a chance to book them, not we've added them and oh by the way the sale has ended so tough...

    rant over...

I would expect to see more sales shortly to backtrack over the whole of next year.

They won`t be £9 anymore because this was the last ever.

With the VAT increase due shortly, expect to see TL`s £10 sales.
