I am so frustrated with travel lodge, i booked 3 nights in Newcastle and i selected family room and ticked the twin occupancy as i was told to do this by a receptionist last time i stayed at a TL so that two lots of bedding would be in the room, i then paid and then when i received the confirmation email it had booked a double room, which is not what i requested, you can't talk to anyone at TL you have to email, i have had one email response which said you can't change hotel/date - i don't want to change the date/hotel i just want a family room (i.E 2 seperate beds to sleep on) i don't think this is too much to ask as this is what i requested in my original booking - not my problem that the system has changed it......

You could always try phoning the hotel direct to see if they have a spare twin they could swap you to. It's worth a try at least.
My message to that greedy wunch of bankers:
Debts another fine mess you got us into!

If you see somone who hasn't got a smile, give them one of yours.

Just following on from the 3 kids dilema people were talking about earlier. We have 3 kids age 3, 3 and 9mths so I was wondering what people who know more about the room sizes. The baby is far too big for a moses basket so would need a travel cot - will this be too difficult in a family room with the pull out bed in use?

I guess it depends on where you go, but we have found that the family room is often big enough to take a travel cot at the foot of the big bed, and you could still have lots of room to pull out the kids sofa bed. I have to admit that it is a bit tight for luggage, but we end up piling it on and under the desk in the corner, and in the wardrobe area, and leave non-essentials in the car.

I booked earlier this year for a TL but last minute plans changed so my double beds needed to be changed to twins.
Called the TL direct & they ammended over the phone. Couldn't have been simpler.

I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue to me. I was booking a 2 room one night stay at the Manchester Airport Travelodge for next May. Found the rooms for £15 each and was v. happy. I went throught the booking procedure and after payment found a screen confirming the details. My browser informed me there was "blocked content" and when I "allowed it" it just returned to the home page. After 10 minutes or so I checked for a confirmation email to find none. I checked for bookings in my account and found none, so I went ahead and tried to book again. The same happened again so I contacted Travelodge who could only confirm that I now have 2 bookings! The only way to deal with my concern is via email to Customer Servivces. I still have no confirmation email after almost 24hrs and customer services have not got back to me. Also I can not log in to my account. Even using the "forgot password" function.
I'm not confident on getting the money back for the second booking.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    :(

I've had almost exactly the same went to pay and it just put me back at the front screen so checked my email and bookings and nothing so assumed it hadn't gone through. Booked again and got to the confirmation screen but there was no reference there. Now I still have no confirmations and like you it doesn't even recognise me to get back into my account but today noticed 2 payments had come out of my account. And like you still nothing from Customer Services. Don't think I'll be booking with them again!
  • I am looking to book a travelodge in liverpool for later in the year for some shopping. Looking at the central one and the Stonedale park one. I drive so would prefer to drive in but the central one does not have a car park. It does mention a car park over the road which is free overnight and chargeable during the day. The stonedale one is further out but has a free car park. Has anyone been to these and could maybe help me make my mind up?

The Stonedale Park is quite far out Liverpool city centre - you would have the hassle of navigating to the city centre and then pay for parking but it is OK if you are staying for 1-2 nights. You should consider Liverpool Docks. Near to Liverpool ONE shopping complex and there is free on site parking.

This has been discussed many times on these boards and the upshot is it`s against TL`s T&C to sell on rooms.

The other thing is that you are ultimately responsible for the room you booked.
So if you sell it on and that person decides to trash the room or even has a quick smoke by the window, you`re the one who`ll end up coughing up (no pun) when TL takes the money from your account to pay for damage or the £150 no smoking fine.

I figured something along those lines, but thanks for the confirmation.
  • We have been unable to attend a couple of bookings - we just 'lost' the money (better that than to sell on ebay - as someone could eg steal the bed linen or trash the room - I wouldn't want an invoice or additional credit card charges). On some occassions I have just offered the room for free to genuine friends on facebook or work colleagues!
