It's not £50 right away I think it gradually fazes in, might be £20 next year, £30 the year after etc!

I havent got a clue. Ive got 3 kids (aged 2, 4 and 8) so cant see the government giving an extra £50 per week per child, after all, they are making cuts so they arent going to be giving money away (dont get me started on the Government!) lol

Tax credits is tapered down based on your household income so that extra could poss be the maxium a household could get etc, as its based on ur income, how many children etc what you get can be very different from the next person so I think its highly unlikely everyone is getting an extra £50 or something, more like an element like the baby element is changing to the toddler element? which the maxium could be an extra £50 I dunno, but I wouldnt expect and extra £50 with this current climate.
  • Id be happy with an extra 20 quid a week but i aint holding my breath cos what the government says and what they do are 2 different things arent they? Just gotta look at those student riots to realise that.......

One of these letters that the thread is about...was just chipping in my tuppence worth and also saying what I claim as some people were thinking that it was maybe only certain elements of tax credits that were getting it.

The 2010 budget says that CTC is going up by £150 but I would imagine this will be spread over the 12 months. Information on this can be found on the tax credits website. Hope this helps.
