thanks for all the lovely welcomes btw :)

gintot i only ever shop in tesco's cause it's the closes the next closest is sainburys and it's not worth the drive, tesco reduce there meat and veg first thing but only by about 30% and the again at tea time, but to get the best deals you should go just before closing time when they reduce stuff way down, my tesco is open til 12 but i sometimes go at 10 but you don't ahve as much choice then, not that i'm fussy :)

  • Hello quintwins :) Gintomelinda I hope you make your trip okay.

Sooooo c-c-c-c-cold here in yorkshire! I am thinking of going to get an extra pair of socks for my feet. I'm dreadful in the cold but determined to stick on more layers before having to resort to turning the heating up.

  • Arrgggh! Busy, busy day!

OH's friend finally arrived at 10pm last night to eat the dinner I'd cooked earlier. He very kindly offered to drive me to Heathrow (a 4 hour drive there) to collect OH then drive straight back home.

I've taken him up on the offer and am about to leave to meet him near the motorway.

Got up this morning and finished bits and pieces off in the house.

My Lowery needlework stand arrived :j Rather than paying £140 inc the extra daisy dish that my needlework shop quoted, I got it for £50 on eBay :j

Went to start the car to go shopping with mum and the blinking thing wouldn't start again  Got the lovely bloke at the garage to help me again and it turns out it's the battery, so I ordered a new one. Bless them, they fitted it this afternoon, 30 minutes after they should have knocked off. It's got a 4 year warranty, and I sure did pay a huge amount of money for it :(. I'm not going to tell OH as he'll just whinge about how I could have got one cheaper in the city etc etc. But he wasn't here and I'm fed up with having to do stuff on my own, so there!

Tea tonight will probably be a lovely burger on the motorway, and I don't expect to be home before 3am  Oh well, it's worth it to get him back sooner and before any snow arrives - our forecast keeps changing, and now they're just saying it'll be cold - it's already -7 outside brrrrrrrr!

    Have a good night all.

    T xx

    Afternoon All

    :bdaycake: Bargainbird

No snot here thank you very much, and none wanted. No snow here either, and none of that wanted. I am at last making a move towards Christmas, the tree is up, the cards are written, the postal ones are posted, and the neighbour ones ready for DH to distribute tomorrow.

Well since my Dr gave me a muscle relaxant for my back, which I just take at night, I am having 8 hours kip, waking up refreshed, but not getting half as much done, as I spend longer in bed. :rotfl:

The DW arrived the morning after it was due as the lorry broke down, we also decided on a new combi-microwave, another Panasonic but this one has now turntable, somehow I managed to order the wrong one on line, but noticed before leaving the shop, however, there was a good discount reserving on line, which they could not see, but said if I took proof they would refund, so popped back for a £32 refund. Have been fancying one of these for a while, but were expensive when we last looked, however, there is a newer model now a little larger but this meant the older model was now £100 less.:D

Rather pleased I stocked up with First Class stamps last week, who cares if they have an Xmas design on, if they say first, they are first.

Must start wrapping presents, I bought some of the bags, but want the little bits wrapped up in there to delay the suspense.

Still knitting like crazy and waiting for a wool delivery, post is appalling, 10 days when sent First Class mail, and they have the cheek to put a massive rise on it.

OS wise, using up bits from the fridge for lunch, I got a chicken from Aldi, but DH wants Beans and Poached Eggs on Toast:cool:

Right better get back to it. Take care all, and those MIA, pop in and say hello soon.

We are driving to Heathrow tomorrow morning to pick up DD and new husband who are due in at 2.15.pm. I haven't been to Terminal 5 before! Anyone know what the roads are like from the south to Heathrow? I am a big panicker so getting worried...........DH says we will get there through hell and high water and the motorway will be ok but I think we need to be practical and be careful.

I am on the south coast, about 1 1/2 hours from heathrow, so far the roads down here are clear, no snow, but will be icy in the morning, I think you will be fine, just take it easy xx
