I've been there 5 times and stayed everywhere from the (old) Stardust motel which wa like a 50's throwback to Excalibur (with kids) and Luxor and Caesars (with adults). Caesars was the best and its shopping malls and entertainment are both brilliant. I went to see Mama Mia and the Blue Man Group on last visit- if you want something that is really different and brilliant all round entertainment go to Blue Man. We also went to the Blues Club (think it was Caesars) ans to the Legends Show (impersonators of Elvis, Cher, Michael Jackson etc) - great show and free wine. Ive been to the Canyon in small planes, helicopters and by car. Going by car is definitely the best as you get 'up close and personal' - and is is really awe inspiring - but for a short trip helicopter is the best. Dont go on the one where you visit the ranch as well - its rip off.
Brilliant food and loads of free entertainment - Bellagio fountains, music bars, outdoor shows at the hotel also dont know if Sigried & Roy are still in Vegas (might be dead) but it is the best magic show you will ever see!!

Have fun and dont forget 'the more you spend the more you save'.

I did find the Casino Royale for £220 for 6 nights but the room was based on 2 people..It's a great location and we won't be in the room much..But when I asked about 3 of us they said "Don't tell them there's 3 when you book or get there"
This was an agency telling me to do this but I don't want to get all the way there and have to lie....(Or hide my mother ha ha)
  • Stayed at Luxor - absolutely fantastic

Grand Canyon is a definate must - dont go by Coach (4 or 5 hours to get there?) We flew, then short coach drive to the edge, helicopter to the base, river ride along the Colorodo (spelling sorry), Helicopter back to the top, flew back to Vegas (all in all about 5 hours). The peace and beauty is awesome (no guard rails or any safety features at all!!). We eat with the Indians (just beans and basic food but surprising how hungry we were). The only down point was after the Indians in their native costumes bade us farewell they got in their Hummers and drove off!!!!

Hire a car and drive to Hover Dam. Make sure you do the trip where you see all the machinery - well well worth it

    Have a great time!!!

I've booked the Luxor (Tower room) for next month. Works out at just under £60 per night. Booked with Travelocity.

For most times of the year NYNY is about 1/2 again more expensive than Luxor, and the pool there is rubbish, the pool and surrounding area is in the shade for the best part of the day, and I hope you like the sound of screaming every 1 minute, because the Manhatten Express goes by really close to the pool. I have stayed in loads of hotels on and off strip, and still go back to the Luxor, just the sheer size of the atrium, as you are standing at the check-in, and looking over the edge from the walkway if you are staying in the Pyramid,(something I always say to people to do at least once in there Vegas lifetime) keeps me going back for more.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
