Going to Vegas next month staying at Circus Circus.
You're welcome. Hope they were useful.
Also, don't be shy about posting to some of the boards on there, eg lvtalk, they are very helpful, no matter how silly you might think the question is.
Enjoy yourself.0 -

tip for Circus Circus only buy a ticket for the Canyon Blaster roller coaster in the adventure dome everything else in there is kids only .
one very scary ride though that canyon blaster Alton towers eat your heart out lol... yet only in vegas could it be topped . i,e Speed at the Saraha.. Manhattan express at New York New York ...AND ,,,,,the Stratosphere rides .
if money is tight ( only reason i can think you have choosen Circus Circus) i think you would be better served by the Tropicana or Stardust . or if you can live without being on the strip the Rio or Palms. but i wold urge you to reconsider your choice. it is a bit downmarketBetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
"O" bu cirque du soleil is very good. very very good in fact. you will need to buy tickets in advance though, as they always sell out. I got the restricted view seat, and there was no problem with it. its only a railing about 2 metres away that blocks the view very slightly.

PS. I have stayed at Luxor, Hooters hotel, Bellagio and Circus circus. I would never go near circus circus again. Terrible experience. If i was short of cash i'd stay at hooters again. Its newly renovated. Bellagio was amazing. Was there late sept and they were filming Oceans 13, so got to see Andy garcia do his day job. Luxor is full of english people, so if home away from home is your thing, stay there.if i had known then what i know now0 -
Hi Adam,
I think you must stay in the heart of the strip to get the most out of it, so places like Circus Circus are too far out. Whichever hotel you use you can visit all the other main strip hotels to see their attractions, eat, gamble etc.
If you're on a budget stay in one of the less well known hotels - much cheaper but still very high standards. Last time I went I got a great deal at Bally's opposite Bellagio and Caesar's and next to Paris.
Hotel prices are MUCH higher at weekends, if you're there for a week then you'll have to pay, but Sunday night thru to about Thursday are a lot cheaper.
Like everyone else says, it'll be a wow!0 -
As we are going with the kids this time we felt Circus Circus was the most child friendly.
Stayed at the Sahara before and the only thing I can remember about the place was the long queue to check in and the cheap food!0 -
Hi Adam
Vegas is my second home now with my job. So far this year I've stayed there more nights than I have back here home!
If your going first time, I'd suggest staying around "The cross-roads of the world" area. This is Tropicana/Las Vegas Blvd cross section.
Hotels to stay in? The good thing about Vegas is that money rules!!
How much do you want to spend?? It's all down to that!
If you want one of the best hotels going - THEhotel at Mandalay Bay or Wynn. The Signature at MGM comes in a very close 3rd!!
Food - Buffets are good choice for selection and price. Bellagio is the best at present.
Restaurants are there in the hundreds. When you get in a taxi (more on that later) pick up the Vegas booklet and it details most decent restaurants there.
Bars/Clubs - In every casino!! It's a good idea to use Vegas.com to book line pass and admission to clubs on a weekend. My personal favourites are Caramel in Bellagio and The Beach on Convention Center Drive.
Trips - Grand Canyon is cool. Mt. Charleston is worth a visit too, scenery is awesome!! Hoover Dam in impressive too! Oh and you just gotta do the jellycopter flight over Vegas at night!!
Few more things - Carry passport with you everywhere. I'm 26 and still get ID'd, VIRTUALLY EVERYWHERE!!
Anyone wanna know why they do this, PM me and I'll tell you.
Think about getting a hire car and using valet parking! So much more convenient than taxi/monorail and cheaper too (abit).
Taxi at the airport - make sure you state where your going to and ADD - NO TUNNEL. Some companies like Desert Taxi's, Whittlesea and Nellis can "longhaul" you, effectively making a $8 fare a $20 one.
If they as if it's your first time in Vegas say you come here like every week!!
Yellow Taxi's and Checker are the best (The drivers do NOT have to pay for their own gas).
IF your stuck on anything else or wanna know some places to go off strip or cool places to see that often get missed PM me.
Hope you have a cool trip0 -
It will be HOT!!!! I went in May and it averaged at 90 at 2 in the morning!!
Make sure you dont stay in freemont street area (old vegas), unless changed very dodgy and ages from Strip.
Most hotels have a pool but I would put it high on my proprity list next time I go.
The fountains at Bellagio absolutely blew me away!!!0 -
i'll second the people who say it was hot! Was there in June and it was 120oF one day.
I stayed in the Super 8 Motel-it's just off the strip near the Bellagio. Not flash like the casino hotels, but cheap.
If you have time, head out into the desert-we went to the Red Rock Canyon-there are various tour trips there.0 -
Avoid Circus Circus like the plague - an absolute dive.0
