does anyone know why my rolls cook lovely on the top,but their bottoms stay soggy?
i'm making the dough in the BM,leaving the rolls to rise, then cooking at 180 degrees for about 15-20 mins, but if i leave em in any longer, they burn on the top ......i end up having to turn them over for a couple of minutes cos otherwise they taste ''doughy''
Two possibilities:- I find that dough made in the BM has more liquid than that made by hand. Maybe try making the dough by hand instead, or use less liquid in the BM.
- Your oven is hotter than indicated. Try turning the temp down after 10 mins, or put a cold tray above the rolls to stop their tops burning.

Sorry Cullumpster,
I've only just seen your post....did you try contacting Breville?
If I was you I'd use any pizza dough recipe and just set the machine to the dough setting.
I have the Morphy Richards one here and it makes a lovely pizza dough....let me know if you want it.

The stainless steel MR fastbake is £46.52 in Argos at the moment. Also if you spend more than £50 you get a £5 voucher back. Have just started a bit of Xmas shopping!0

Hubby surprised me with a breadmaker for Christmas, and by luck, he picked the Morphy Richards stainless steel fastbake, so I can join the club! Yay!I've been lucky, I'll be lucky again. ~ Bette Davis0

Hi,
Can I join your club too?
My parents bought me one for Christmas after many many hints over the last couple of months.
I also got a couple of mixes from Aldi, the white one worked fine but the Granary one rose then collapsed and went brick like!
I am impatiently waiting for Mr T to open tomorrow so I can go and buy some ingredients so I can make a loaf from scratch.
I need to practice as stupidly I've offered to make bread for a family get together on Friday - I'm planning on making the French bread in the instruction manual.
My main reason for wanting one is so that I know what I'm feeding my daughter as well as moneysaving.

I really want to make more bread this year. The prices in the supermarket have gone up so much. When I first got the breadmaker, I made bread quite often (as you do with a new toy) but my DD complains that the bread doesn't make nice toast. I have tried the standard loaf, the sandwich loaf, half wholemeal half white.
Does anyone have any tips on how to turn out a good loaf that also toasts nice?? Thanks0
