I am keen on the fruit loaf at the moment! It tastes just like slices of hot cross bun - and it's really good toasted for several days after it's made (if you can bear not to eat it all straight away!)0

No, I get that too. Usually the blade comes out easier if you leave the bread to cool a few mins before removing from tin

Another quick recommendation - Made pitta bread in mine this evening using Delia's recipe.

have been following this thread and have got all excited and gone out and bought myself a MRFB!!!!
thing is, if i want to use oil instead of marg, how much do i use?
ie) if it says use 1 tbsp of marg, do i use 1tbsp of oil instead? and which oil is better? sunflower or olive?
i'm off to town now to get me flour and stuff.......can't wait to get started!!!
last time i tried to use a bread maker, it came out like a house brick so i'm hoping this time'll be better!0 -
Hey all. You really must try this!
Add ingrediants as per instrustions (i use the one for sandwich bread) and start it on setting for "dough" (it takes about an hour and a half) then once that has finished, put it on the sandwich setting.
I did this yesterday and my bread is so amazingly light. :j :j
Far better than just using the sandwich setting on it's own!!Make £10 a day challenge March 2013 £101.24 / £240 :j

Hi Mandy Moo,
The only recipes I have tried have listed sunflower oil in the ingredients and not marg. I have done the basic white, basic brown, raisin bread, fruit loaf and french bread so far. All delicious!

thanx Nova .......... i hadn't read the recipe properly in all the excitement!!
and now i want to tell everyone that my firstest loaf of bread worked!!! :j i'm so excited......i've texted everyone i can think of to tell them!!
i wanna make another one now
we'll eat this one today, then i'll put another one on timer to be ready for morning and i think i'll have a go at the cinnamon&raisin one next
I can't believe how easy it was, and the 1lb loaf is just the right size for the 3 of us, cos i always think it tastes nicest the day you make it
i've had a pan of leek & potato soup on the go as well this morning to warm us up in this awful weather, so that's tea sorted for tonight ( that's if i don't scoff all the bread before the kids get home! :rotfl: )0 -

Remember that if you are going to put raisin bread on timer, you have to be there to add raisins! I made the same mistake - ended up starting a cycle really late and had to wait up for beeps  . The loaf was left in there overnight (don't think you're supposed to do that!) but it was still really nice - expected it to be soggy and it wasn't.0
