If anyone is interested, lives in Kent and reads this before the auction is over on eBay.. £15 for a MR BM COLLECTION only, so no postage.

Made a mixed fruit cake in my MR bm, but want to know how long it will last for ? I made it on Thursday, and there is some left - can I eat it or should I throw it away ?

    Just thought I'd mention

Instead of buying granary flour... I used normal wholemeal flour and added a half-cup mixture of wheat flakes and rye flakes (1 1/2 size setting)

It came out perfect!... much nicer than shop bought granary bread, and works out much cheaper than using granary flour

Joey, where do you get wheat flakes and rye flakes? Breakfast cereal section in supermarket or home baking or somewhere else?

Sorry if it is a bit of a dumb question :o

Just a quick update on my MR Fastbake problems which I posted about a few days ago. I rang them again, and they are sending me a brand new one next week, and collecting the one with the problems. I must say, I can't fault their customer services department. They are always pleasant and helpful, and very keen to sort a problem out. I have no hesitation in recommending them - and even though I've had a few problems with my breadmaker, the fact that MR is prepared to sort them out and stand behind their product without question, is very pleasing. I don't know what the Panasonic customer services department is like, but they can't be any better than MR I don't think!
Am so looking forward to getting my new machine next week and to waking up to the smell of freshly baked bread once again. (I can't put my machine on overnight at the moment in case the pan jumps out of the fixings!)

Hi again! Well, I've been keeping my eye on the Morphy Richards website for a Fastbake Bread Maker at a bargain price ;)

Today I have spotted that on there they have a Stainless Steel Fastbake (Product No 48268) on there reduced from £69.99 to £29.95. Seems like a great deal to me, but I just wanted to double check with you experts that the Stainless Steel model is just as good as the ordinary. If the only difference is the SS finish, I'll snap it up. If not, I'll wait...

Help, as ever, gratefully received! :T

That's the one. I would go for it if I were you. My replacement came this morning. The customer service from MR is fab if you do run into problems. It's a great machine.
