i'm gonna put the mix in to make a 2lb loaf to come on over night....the 1lb loaf went nowhere!!

only thing is, you know you have to use warm water so that the yeast activates, surely if i put everything in the BM about 10pm to start cooking about 3am, the water would be stone cold

does anyone know if the bread still works doing it like this? should i put hotter water in to start with?

When I first got my machine, I used to muck about trying to get the water the right temperature, but now I just put in water cold from the tap and the bread seems to be exactly the same, so I wouldn't worry about it if I were you! You will wake up to the smell of lovely fresh bread tomorrow morning - enjoy!!

    Hi mandy_moo

I do the same as nell.....if I'm putting the breadmaker on the timer I just add cold water and it doesn't seem to make any difference.

    Pizza!

Do some pizza dough, spread with passata (I mix mine with a squirt of ketchup and some herbs) and add your own topppings.

You'll never go to Pizza Hut again :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Made pizza last night - it was fantastic :D Can't believe we use to spend so much on Domino's - something silly like £18!

I would like to make the banana bread but hate walnuts (plus I don't have any in my storecupboard), but got some lovely ripe bananas.

Anyone made it without or substituted with something else?

Haven't made Banana bread without walnuts but I can't see it would matter. You are not altering the consistency of the dough. I would give it a whirl!!

Made it without walnuts and did it in a bit of a rush. It's awful. I didn't measure the banana properly just put 3 ripe ones in. I was sooo looking forward to it. Never mind. It's my 1st fastbake disaster

    So far I've made:

    White/wholemeal breads
    Fruit bread
    Banana bread
    Cinnamon buns
    Rolls
    Hamburger rolls
    Madeira Cake
    Croissants

And all have come out great!

    I think I'm addicted :o

mrcow - any tips for the banana bread? Did you follow the recipe in the manual to the letter?

    TIA

Pretty much. It came out really nice. I think I only had two bananas so I just mashed them up and I didn't have the full amount of nuts, oh and I didn't have any lemon rind. I used caster sugar as opposed to granulated and Flora as I don't have butter at home. Eveyone really liked it.

Just try again, maybe with less banana? The nuts do make it nicer too.
