I got my MR a few days ago. I gave up with the Breville and returned it. Really happy with this one. it's much better than my old Hinari too. Have made lots of raisin bread but find I need to treble the quantity of cinnamon in order to taste it.0

Hello all,
Could somebody help me please? I purchased an mr fastbake about 10 days ago and have just taken it out to make my first loaf this morning. However, the manual is missing several pages (4.5.22.23). I can see from the contents that page 4 has information about before first use and I gather from this thread that I have to do something before I use it properly?
I would be really grateful if somebody could explain to me what I have to do as I really wanted to make some bread this weekend. I have emailed morphy richards requesting a new instruction book but im guessing that won't arrive til at least middle of next week.
Thanks in advance.Auguast GC: £2000 -

Hi, hope this works, I am not that good in posting links.. but I looked on the Morphy Richards website and look for "downloads" Put in model number 48268, if that is the breadmaker you have, and you can download the instruction manual. Hope this helps. Happy baking..0 -
Thank you VERY much. I was really disappointed when I thought I wouldn't be able to make my bread today. Off to the kitchen now.
Thanks again!Auguast GC: £2000 -
Annoying isn't it? All you want to do is play with your new toy.. I am like that. I am glad it worked. Enjoy. My fast loaf baking as I type, it smells brilliant. Kids keep looking at the display to see how long it has to go.0

Hi all - Can I join?
After weeks of umming and ahhing, I've finally got a MR FB.
Tried my first loaf yesterday using Hovis Granary breadmix - disaster!
I'd done all the pre-amble, pre-baking etc, measured the ingredients accurately, used the recommended programme, put the water (tepid) in, then the marge then the mix and fired it up.
All was going swimmingly until 30 mins to go, when a bigger collapse than Wolves in 2003 happened.
Let it cool down and got the bread out only to find the blade buried in the cooked half.
What we could eat tasted great.
Called the MR helpline and they said use 1tbsp less water and an ascorbic acid tab (I almost told the lady - I'm not a hippy, despite the amount of lenntils I consume!).
I'm now stuck as I'm temporarily housebound due to sciatica (Had to do my shopping online at Tescos-Pah!)
Anyone got any useful tips?
I also don't want to use milk or dairy products as I'm Vegan and Mrs OWEI is Gluten intolerant.
Cheers all!0 -
well I'm not sure if this will help or not ... I use the basic white/brown setting. I omit the skimmed milk powder altogether, and I dont use melted butter , I use sunflower oil, you dont have to faff about melting it, just pour it into the measuring spoon. Maybe thats what the recipe calls for anyway, I can't remember.
The ascorbic acid I presume she means use a Vitamin C tablet ? Apparently this helps the yeast to do the rising thing.
I dont know about breadmixes, you have to use just flour not a pre-made up mix. Or maybe I am misunderstanding your question?
I love my MR FB. Until December I went about 4 months without buying a loaf (but then I got pregnant and am now too full of morning sickness to to do it or to stand the smell of the breadPlan to resume once sickness goes, I love thebread from it, especially when its just warm mmmmmm
Oh yeah and the blade in my machine always always always sticks in the loaf but I just prise it out, I'm not that bothered.Jan GC: £202.65/£450 (as of 4-1-12)

Silly question about Vit c tabs - can I use the effervescent ones, or is there some other sort?
