Apparently morphy richards have a really good after sales service and have no problems replacing their appliances.......one of the reasons why I was happy to buy one. Do you have the helpline number?

Keep saving for the panasonic. You really won't be disappointed and it really is worth the extra money.
My first bread maker was the MR fast bake. I got the panasonic for christmas from my dad (ta dad!) The difference in the quality of the bread is amazing. I raved about it so much my dad went and bought one for himself to replace his MR (of which the bread pan is stuck in the machine!)
My MR pan used to unlock itself when the paddle was turning to lie flat, I emalied MR and they sent me a replacment pan no questions asked. This solved the problem.0 -

It doesn't make any difference.. if it is a manufacturing fault it is dangerous and needs to be sorted.. they should do something so long as you've had it less than 6 years!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Someone mentioned earlier about their instruction booklet getting a little sticky. I've filed mine away[ for safety, and with receipt] and went on line, found the instruction booklet, printed it off and have put it into one of those project folders that have the plastic sleeves in. Now if anything spills on the pages, it can be wiped offWe don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0

Does anyone know how they compare in terms of use and loaf quality? I like the idea of the automatic nut seed thing but it is not essential, but I had a breadmaker when they first came out (I think it was a Prima one) and the only loaf which was edible was the french loaf and that was a bit iffy. I do like the idea of HM bread though,as I am always running out of bread and going to the supermarket to get it and coming out with £20 odd quids worth of other stuff I didn't really need:o
My OH is a chef and very fussy about kitchen gadgets (insisted we save and buy a Magimix because nothing else would do!). I ummed and ahhed about whether to get the Panny or the MR Fastbake and we went for the latter. It was £45 in Argos at the time; half the price of a Panny. However, we have not been disappointed. After a few experiments, we are knocking out excellent loaves - I especially like the French bread (very light) and the wholemeal. I was really surprised by the quality of the Fast loaves - I was sure you couldn't produce a good loaf in an hour, but we often select that cycle. Otherwise, we usually have it set to go off at night (we have a guest house, so prepare the bread for the guests' breakfast). It's not noisy, looks fab (I have the groovy chrome one), there's no hole in the bottom of the bread thanks to the drop down blade and I'm dying to try making jam in it. For £35, I don't think you'll be disappointed.0 -
just made my first loaf of bread in my morphy richards that dd swopped her dvd player for, might be beginners luck but the bread looks perfect, still a bit too hot to cut but i have sliced an end off and the texture looks fine, no paddle stuck in the bread either0

Im having nothing but probs with mine at the mo
the pan keeps dislodging
the other day the pizza do was just gloopy fluid
the crusts are so hard I can barely cut it
whichever loaf i seem to do at the mo, theres something wrong with it
I think i might try and get a refund & spend the extra & get the panasonic:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0
