DS1 asked about chocolate bread. i told him it wasn't very nice and he believed me!!:rotfl:

Made my first 'correct' wholemeal loaf overnight (don't ask, wrong recipe ), but didn't have a chance to try it this morning. Put in honey instead of sugar, just to see what happened. looks ok
:dance:There's a real buzz about the neighbourhood
  • Hi

I have made chocolate bread before but not with the BM. I must say it is delicious toasted with a bit of butter, great for a Sunday afternoon treat. However, I cannot say that it would be my choice for making sandwiches tho!

    Hi,

I've had my MRFBBM for a whle but haven't used it for ages and now I can't find the measuring cup. Does anyone happen to know what volume the cup holds. I really want to make some bread NOW after reading this thread.

    Thanks for any help.

The cup is a standard american measuring cup, so 8 ounces. (although some of the bread recipes, eg the fastbake ones measure in ml.) But if it just says "cup", then 8 oz.

    Hi
I've had my Morphy Richards for years - about 5 I think & it's been used several times a week for most of that time. After a bit of recipe juggling in the beginning I've been turning out lovely everyday & 'special' bread plus dough for pizza, ciabatta & naan.
My problem is that all of a sudden the bread isn't rising properly. It still tastes fine & isn't too heavy but it's only about 3/4 of the way up the pan. Dough is still coming out fine.
I haven't changed what I do so I can only think my machine is past it - maybe not getting to the right temperature? Before I go out & buy a new one has anyone any brilliant ideas about anything else I can try please?
I'm going to work in a bit & won't be back 'til 7 tonight so if you reply & I seem to be ignoring you - I'm not honest.:D
    Thanks all

I lost some of the measuring things for my Morphy Richards Fastbake BM, so phoned them to ask if I could buy new ones. No waiting listening to rubbish music, a very pleasant salesperson, and new measuring spoons (hadn't lost the cup, but could have got that as well if needed) for £2.58 including VAT and postage, arrived within 5 days. Excellent customer service, though it was an 0870 number (0870 1676 653) but a very quick call and now I have my new measuring spoons!

    hiya all BM users :)

Just a quick one. I made rolls again last night ( third time i think) and Im not convinced by them ( white rolls)

they just seem so heavy & doughy. I can barely eat half of one, and we had them with HM burgers so you want them light- dont you?

    Anyone got any tips??
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

I put the dough in little roll shapes on abaking tray and cover with a tea towel and leave in warm place for at least 30 mins - longer if I can and then bake them

Hi, i'm fairly new to this site but i thought id join in as i looooove my bread maker.

I've had my morphy richards bread maker for eight years now. It does three pound loafs...or at least it would if it hadn't broken!....3 years ago it wobbled off my work surface and broke the lid and bent the side...i was mortified!...i cant now bake loafs in it, but it does still beat, so i use the dough setting and make cobs, pizza dough etc and cook in the oven. Cobs are wonderful and i get 12 good sized ones (like shop bought size).

I have tried to find another bread maker this size but no one sells this size any more (incl morphy richards). Anyway, i cant really afford a new one.

I so love my bread maker, i cant understand why people buy them and make 1loaf then never use them.

Looking forward to reading your messages
