  • Hi Pink-winged

I was thinking about mixing the seeded white flour with bread flour but I didn't realise I could also mix with plain flour so thanks for the tip i will give it a try.

The dried onions I saw were in Sainsburys although I didn't buy any as I wasn't sure if they would be OK, I thought they might be too dry to use in the BM. However, if you have used the onion flakes and they are OK then I may pick some up on my next trip to the supermarket although that might not be for a while. On second thoughts the cheese and onion bread sounds so delicious I might have to give in.

    Thankyou

I made a large wholemeal loaf yesterday but used 2 cups of wholemeal flour and 2 cups of strong white bread flour, I did not add a Vitamin C tablet as I did not have any. The bread rose to the top of the pan and turned out great. So far one of the best yet.

What setting do you use for this loaf please?

dried onions you can get in the "salad" section near the dressings - for sprinkling on er salads ;) they also do bacon style bits - but i think they are made of soya? Dunno, but might pick some up

    Just an update from me....

I made the banana and walnut bread this weekend.........even though I just used mixed chopped nuts, it was fantastic! More like a cake than bread, but delicious!

I tried a 'sort of' wholemeal loaf. Everyone else in the family loved it except me, but then I hate wholemeal bread. I love the soft fluffy white stuff that isn't very good for you.:o

    Anyway, here's what I did..........

Water: 1 and a half cups
    Skimmed milk powder: 4 tablespoons
    Sugar: 3 tablespoons
    Sunflower oil: 4 tablespoons
    Salt: 2 teaspoons
Flour: One cup wholemeal, one cup strong bread, two cups of plain
Yeast: 1 and a quarter teaspoons
Seeds: A decent handful...If you want them incorporated into the loaf add them at the beginning........if you prefer them to be in the crust add them when it beeps.

The kids are begging me to try the chocolate bread.......can't say it appeals, so I've been lying through my teeth and telling them that I haven't got any cocoa powder! ;)

    Has anyone else tried it?
