Hi lil_me,
I can't compare it to the panasonic (which most people seem to love) as this is my first breadmaker, but I'm delighted with mine. I bought it thinking I'd make bread now and again. I didn't expect it to replace all shop bought bread........but it has. We haven't bought a loaf of bread since October.

Thing that is warming me to the Fastbake is the price and the fact it does JAM! But the panasonic does gluten free, I think I'll keep reading about them on the forum and see what reviews I can find and just start saving until then. One day I might be more organised...........

Having read what everyone says about them on Old Style I probably would have bought a panny too.........but not knowing whether or not I'd use it, when I saw the MR for £14.50 I couldn't resist trying it. I haven't been disappointed. When this one dies I might look at buying a Panasonic.
There are some gluten free recipes in the MR too although I haven't tried them.

sam,
can you pre-order cups or when did they tell you they were back in?
Someone on here was saying for a american recipe where "cups" is used they used the BM cup and the recipe worked fine. Now I know Ikea does measuring spoons with1/2 cup as Ive got a set myself, so that might be OK. the thing Im thinking is that the teaspoon/ tablespoon might not be the right measurements in the Ikea set, but it might be worth a go?? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

This Ive come to know...

Well, my second Morphy Richards Fastbake has just stopped working!!!! Both times, the paddle has stopped moving round, so will be taking this one back to Argos again (less than a year old, as was my first one) and i wont be getting another.
Its a shame, because i really liked my BM, i know we make bread most days but surely it should last a lot longer than 9 months!!!!!0 -
Hi All
I couldn't agree with pink winged more. I have a friend who raved about the panny but at nearly £100 it was out of my price range, it was also a lot of money for something that I did not know if I would enjoy using or would become an expensive dust collecter once the novelty wore off.
I also bought the MR Fastbake for £14.50, following the recommendation on here, and it has been the best £14.50 I have ever spent. :j It has paid for itself in the few short months I have been using it. I have not purchased shop bought bread or rolls since. It is so easy to use and I love the smell of baking bread wafting round the house. I would recommend it to anyone contemplating buying one.
Also, thanks to everyone who posts their hints and tips on here I am becoming more adventurous.
Cheers
