  • Thanks!!

I think the key thing is discipline. I have been lucky that I have a good job and a good 2nd job that I do in my spare time which has allowed me to accelerate the clearing of the debt, but most of all it was ignoring the need to buy shiny things.

Loans, credit cards etc can be useful and sometimes essential but I will be avoiding it as much as possible as I lack the self-control.

Good luck everyone and thankyou to jwil for starting this thread as kept me focused.

Only £980 left so I should do that by the year end. Have carefully stashed some money away for the next batch of big yearly bills so hopefully no spending on CC's.

We are planning to keep Christmas spending light.

Unfortunately as I'm seeing light at the end of the debt tunnel life is dealing up some crappy stuff to deal with :(
  • No. 83 here, normal payment has come out for £38.69, so new total is now £2209.22/£2400. £190.78 to go, shouldn't be a problem by the end of the year!
    Bank of Scotland CC: £2209.22/£2400.

  • well done on the payments everyone! i also lack self-control and cant see myself getting another 0% card (i first told myself i would save the money in savings when that didnt work said i would pay off as much i could each month which also doesnt work!)

i will be making my payment on fri 30th. hoping for it to be between £900-£1000 as i paid less last month due to forgetting to submit an invoice for work done! :)

I am lucky to get paid 4 weekly so get 13 pay days a year and this month I get 2 pay days :)
