Made a small overpayment of £10.47 this morning.
Bringing my running total to £2668.36/£6000
I have only been totalling my overpayments towards this challenge...not including any minimum payments....I wonder what my total would be if I had included them.
Do I even want to know???
I dread to think how many lovely holidays I could have had with this money I am paying back to debt....which I really have nothing to show for it....
Still makes me more determined to get rid of it!!Pay as much as you can in 2011- £3688.54/£6000Pay as much as you can in 2012 - £3190.96/£6000LBM - August 2010 - £19202.30Current - August 2012 - £11803.68Paid so far - £7398.620 -
Best Day Ever!! Today is DFD
I think I have been in debt since I started work at 18 and which maxed out 3 1/2 years ago at 55k when I split with my ex. 15 years on and it finally is all gone. Feel so incredibly relieved.
I will now treat myself to a nice bike for commuting/triathlons and the rest of this months money and future money goes to saving for the future and my impending child.

I only count the balance reduction, not the interest in my figures for this challenge, but for PAD purposes count the whole figure so I can record exactly what I've paid towards servicing my debts. The figure is shocking - especially considering I don't always remember to record it "Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Well done Andy. Really inspiring!
Jwil, at the end of the year we should have a roll call of all those who have become debt free on this thread. There's quite a few now I think, aren't there? Or is it just those who have reached their target but are not necessarily debt free yet?0 -
Yey, well done Andy!Debt free and busy treating myself:)
No more toiletries/make up until I've used what I've got stashed since Jan 2011, graduated October 2012. Restocked Dec 13..damn those sales0 -
Another £50 paid off
Please update Pernicious - £2720.74/£5,612.40
I don't think I will make my target at this rate, we could have paid it all off if we were waiting to get married but decided not to delay any further & go ahead with things, so paying for that has stopped payments which could go to this...we are on 0% interest so it's not too bad but wish we could up our income a bit more in order to do both!
