Running out of time, needing to borrow in time for xmas...

So first it's the banks fault because they lent to you, then it's their fault because they won't lend to you when you want them to, then it's their fault because they don't consider your mental health before lending/not lending to you. Then you want a stranger to take out a loan for you?! Sure, the posited reward is £5000 paid off but the punishment is a £20k loan and no payments from you!0

How did that meeting with the bank go? I thought there'd be no problems once you explained your 'get out of debt quick' scheme.
I really hope you are a troll but I'm going to be careful because if not then you have some mental health issues to go with your debts and it would be wrong to mock your ill formed ideas.
Please do the following. Go and see your doctor and then contact CCCS.
I have already stated...I am on SSRI's just now (google it) and have been to my doctor and signed off with mental health problems many times. I lost a job due to this, I had 4 months of SSP (just before I came into some money in 2007) which essentially cost me £1500 per month....
The meeting with the bank didn't go...as stated..the weather here is -3 degrees, a lot of snow has fallen since the morning and I did not want to walk 10 miles in these conditions. I have no friends in my workplace. There is no one who would ever go out their way to offer me a lift. Life without a car is very tough when you live in the middle of nowhere. I also am very wary of seeing my bank after the bad reaction it has gotten on this page...there have been three occasions in my life when I have attempted suicide, and two of those have occurred within 5 minutes of leaving a bank, so don't please don't think this is all a joke or a wind up...
As for "Nigerian Scam"....lol...fair enough...but I'd like to see anyone else have the balls to make such an offer. PM, I'll give you my name, if you google it you will find 5 years worth of forum posts of me looking for help, I'm a bit more careful now as to how much info I release before getting to know someone.
In the 10 minutes it has taken for me to write this I have received 7 emails of "NEED HELP FOR XMAS?! WE WILL GIVE U CA$H" nature, and 3 texts. Its obvious I am desperate, and when I'm this desperate I stoop to these blunders time and time again....what I was proposing was a real solution...but its not for everyone...99.99% of the popultion still have a flat world mentality...0 -
I really think that this thread should be closed or deleted. It's not funny anymore, and treading on dangerous ground.
Someone who genuinely has problems could be getting put off asking for help due to this debacle.Ruaridh Armstrong-missing since 05/11/11. Come home old boy-we miss you x

What happens if in a year or so time you find yourself in a similar situation as you are now and instead of it being the banks you are unable to pay it is some poor individual.
What if you lose your job? What if your gambling PROBLEM spirals further out of control. Then what is that person going to do? Just be shafted with a £20k loan.
Good luck getting anyone to do that!
If I lose my job? It's happened before...I have changed job almost every 2 years...each time earning almost as much as the last job, I changed profession 3 years back into an area in which I had absolutely no experience or knowledge, this was the first time I dropped in salary. I am now a consultant in my field and should make senior consultant next year. That 4 rungs up the ladder from when I started, and I started head first at the deep end with absolutely no knowledge about what the job was or what i had to do. My work "mates" in my previous job all though I was insane for leaving, but I was fed up in that job of being the one who did all the work for them to take all the glory, and they knew that me leaving would expose the frauds they were. I wasn't out of that job 4 months and into my new role before my previous company lost their contract due to the amount of c0ck ups that happened when i was gone....job security is something I have never really worried about as I have always sprinboarded myself onto bigger and better things and just now am working for one of the world leaders in my field....
MY MAIN CONCERN WOULD BE THAT SOMEONE WOULD TRY TO SAY I DIDN'T PAY THEM THE £400 PER MONTH!!!! I would need to trust them more than they would need to trust me.
No one will go for it....but I am more than willing to put my money (spread out over 5 years!!!!!) where my mouth is...0 -

Defo agree with this, I posted at the beginning but think it has gone too far now. I don't think any amount of common sense replies will get the OP to see the seriousness of his situation. It's the kids I feel sorry for0 -
If anyone has 5k debt, and is able to take a loan of 20k, I will pay the 20k in debt in full and your 5k debt will be paid off by me.
Dear Friend,
I will gladly take out this loan on the terms you have described. If you would be ask kind to arrange a one off payment to myself of £55 to cover my upfront expenses I will arrange this loan this week.
Please send the money in form of cheque or postal order to:
419 Boquers Avenue
Madeupsville
Kindest regards,
Fred Bangoh
P.S. I also have £100,000,000 in oil reserves I need to get out of Iraq if you could provide an additional £2,000 I would glad split half the value of the oil with you once I have sold it.There's no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.0 -

I would need to trust them more than they would need to trust me.
Why on earth would you need to trust someone more than they would need to trust you? If they said you didnt pay them one month, surely you just wouldnt pay them again - meaning they are saddled with the debt??!!!
This is completely and utterly ridiculous and I am not getting sucked into this complete farce any longer.0 -
I know you *think* you would be able to manage "ok" - but you need to face up to the facts - you do not understand where your money goes each month and you are unable to budget.
Face. Wall. Smash. Repeat.
I agree 100%. How the hell can I budget or know where my money is going when every time I log into my online banking I see a new charge or a collection attempt is made for a bill which I don't have the money for as that little £100 stupid payday loan which I was able to apply for by replying to a text message has been paid back. I agree 100%. In fact, thats what i said from the start. Thats why I posted how an SOA could look with the loan. It might change but I would at least get the chance to put one together when I know I only have ONE DEBT REPAYMENT TO MEET EACH MONTH.The reason you have ended up with this [STRIKE]huge[/STRIKE] debt (let's face it, it's not huge - my circa £35K was huge in comparison - and even that pales into insignificance compared to others!) is because you are spending more than you earn.
You're exactly right!! I have agreed all along! 15K is not a huge amount of debt, in fact its on par with nartional average!!! There are kids in my work who owe 25k on their new MR2...christ only knows where they find the money for their £100 jeans and £200 trainers, but I know they don't earn as much as me...You haven't reached that point yet and are still looking to "borrow" you way out of debt.
It works for governments, multinational corporations, football teams....why not me?0 -
So you're a self confessed gambler, with no fiscal self control, a history of mental health issues and are in complete denial of your financial position.
I think people will be forming an orderly queue by your bridge even as we speak.Space available for rent0
