Which one of your comments is right then?
"the one that should merge to the right".
"and would use common sense re the road layout and that is to merge to the left"
Sorry about that, obviously merge to the right, I have corrected the post.

Not sure where you are coming from!
I was in front of the Audi in as much he was about 8-9 feet behind my front bumper, making me the lead vehicle, therefore he should merge behind me, it isn't rocket science!
Overtaking at a set of lights? Don't know what you mean, but it isn't illegal.
I did not lose anything, the Audi turned left at the next set of lights about half a mile up the road.
.
The audi is quite clearly moving out when you try to force your way round. If you admit you didn't need to indicate, and it's not illegal to overtake, as he is, why is it a problem when someone other than you does it? Loads of horn, flashing lights, then you undertake. Not good driving.0 -

No, you've hung yourself in your own video.
Regardless of your interpretation of road marking, the escort is next to the toyota, the audi is next to you.
So the escort moves off first, the toyota should then be behind him, then the audi should be the next vehicle, then you.
You obviously object, drive up the back of the toyota, so the audi has to go somewhere, and the toyota slows to let him in.
I'd probably do the same if I was in the toyota, rather than force him up the pavement.
Especially if as you say cars should merge in from the left.
That is 100% my interpretation of the video. A very good summary.0 -

To quote another poster who is always right (first line).Highway Code
167DO NOT overtake where you might come into conflict with other road users. For example- approaching or at a road junction on either side of the road
- where the road narrows
- when approaching a school crossing patrol
- between the kerb and a bus or tram when it is at a stop
- where traffic is queuing at junctions or road works
- when you would force another road user to swerve or slow down
- at a level crossing
- when a road user is indicating right, even if you believe the signal should have been cancelled. Do not take a risk; wait for the signal to be cancelled
- stay behind if you are following a cyclist approaching a roundabout or junction, and you intend to turn left
- when a tram is standing at a kerbside tram stop and there is no clearly marked passing lane for other traffic
Being overtaken. If a driver is trying to overtake you, maintain a steady course and speed, slowing down if necessary to let the vehicle pass. Never obstruct drivers who wish to pass. Speeding up or driving unpredictably while someone is overtaking you is dangerous. Drop back to maintain a two-second gap if someone overtakes and pulls into the gap in front of you.
Enough said.
