there are reports of a peaceful protestor hit on the head with a police baton who suffered bleeding on the brain. the first hospital an ambulance took him to tried to turn him away as they had been told to only accept police.

a disabled man has told of being kicked from his wheelchair by officers and dragged across the street.

families with kids have been kept kettled for hours.

the ratio of injured protestors to injured police has been 43 to 9.

I heard a protester threw a nuke and killed everyone.

All these fictional tales are pointless.

The last one is interesting, considering the self defence training police have sounds reasonable ;)

this is just such a stereotype. why do you think people are out in such numbers and so angry? the last time this country saw street riots like this it lead to the welfare state.

There are around 60 million people in this country, what is the percentage of the total population that turned out to protest?

Government decisions based on who causes the most fuss are not the best kind of democracy.

Who would expect the Mirror to misrepresent what the Home Secretary said and meant

Teresa May is on her feet in the Commons right now.

Maybe you should listen to what the Home Secretary actually say's rather than rely on a ludicrous story in a worthless rag !!!

Don't stand next to some one carrying bricks, unless they are building a house a brick at a time it is fairly obvious what they are going to do with them.

Do you think Labour would do it any differently?
Did the police under labour not shot a man in the face for running away from them in the middle of a packed train??

Easy to put a political stance on it isn't it.

yes quite probably. even if they wouldn't it doesn't mean we have to accept this behaviour - try telling iranians not to riot because the shah was as corrupt as the mullahs.

the menezes incident is a completely different one of mistaken information and over-reaction and not related to protestors.

the government should be asking why they are facing the biggest street rioting this side of WW2 rather than just looking at ways of punishing / attacking protestors.

And had they not rioted and attacked the police what would it be?

Considering the police are outnumbered by over 1,000/1 the injury ratio is a lot higher per head.

quite a few more than the countryside alliance mustered up. agreed policy should not just be determined by protest but large numbers of well attended protests across the country as well as letter to mps etc etc is surely a good litmus test of general sentiment.

and what happens if a perfectly innocent protestor is next to someone who chooses to throw a brick? do they deserve to get hosed to the ground? maybe if police officers spot a pick pocket on oxford street they should open the water cannon on the high street?

If I was to pick your pocket Ninky you would be very annoyed! If I then got an iron bar and smashed it over your head and pelted you with housebricks you would still be annoyed and very badly / fatally hurt. See if you can work out the difference.

    Should have used rubber bullets.

That said, Scotland Yard released 10 mugshots of people wanted for trouble at the protests, if any of those slackjawed mongs are students I'll send them £100, blatently just thugs having a day out.

Lets hope that any future employers of these monkies see the mugshots then don't employ them - that would serve them right.

We know, Labour are not in power so the socialists get in a mood again and cause the gullible to kick off.
After racking up 7 years of debt the socialist are blaming the new government for the cuts.

Why are we having cuts Ninky, can you remember who raked the debt up?????
