what sort of government uses water cannon on protestors?

    Oh no!!!

People causing criminal damge may get sprayed with water.

That's disgustingly outrageous. Frankly, I find it appauling that these people causing criminal damage, costing the taxpayer 10's of thousands of pounds, should get wet.

    Or, another idea.

Don't cause criminal damage, you won't get hit with a water cannon.

I know water will be the last thing some of the protesters will want to see, could be the first shower this term.:)

and what happens if a perfectly innocent protestor is next to someone who chooses to throw a brick? do they deserve to get hosed to the ground? maybe if police officers spot a pick pocket on oxford street they should open the water cannon on the high street?

If someone is stupid enough to cause criminal damage and attack the Police etc., they only have themselves to blame if water cannoned or anything else. Perhaps this should be the first response then afterwards be locked away for a very long time.

it's good that they use the water cannon and see the vandalism on tv.

that way we've moved away from the fundamental problem of less people having a university education for people who can't afford it.

that suits the government perfectly and hiodes the issue from them...

Q - why did Nick Clegg cross the road?
    A - because he said he wouldn't...

    Should have used rubber bullets.

That said, Scotland Yard released 10 mugshots of people wanted for trouble at the protests, if any of those slackjawed mongs are students I'll send them £100, blatently just thugs having a day out.

this is just such a stereotype. why do you think people are out in such numbers and so angry? the last time this country saw street riots like this it lead to the welfare state.

Don't stand next to some one carrying bricks, unless they are building a house a brick at a time it is fairly obvious what they are going to do with them.

Do you think Labour would do it any differently?
Did the police under labour not shot a man in the face for running away from them in front of everyone in a packed train??

Easy to put a political stance on it isn't it.

there are reports of a peaceful protestor hit on the head with a police baton who suffered bleeding on the brain. the first hospital an ambulance took him to tried to turn him away as they had been told to only accept police.

a disabled man has told of being kicked from his wheelchair by officers and dragged across the street.

families with kids have been kept kettled for hours.

the ratio of injured protestors to injured police has been 43 to 9.

They move out of the way. It's not that hard to tell who's likely to cause damage is it? They advertise it by covering their faces.
do they deserve to get hosed to the ground? maybe if police officers spot a pick pocket on oxford street they should open the water cannon on the high street?
If they are still stood next to masked people, obviously masked to cause damage and not have their face seen or captured on film, to avoid prosecution....and can't figure out that they probably shouldn't be standing right there....yes, they deserve to get wet.
