Yeah a lot better, my mate also didn't submit her's but she had a very valid reason, she had practically moved into the hospital to support her daughter who had a baby at 26weeks gestation. Only thing she was bothered about was the survival of her grand-daughter and daughter's health. Hoping they allow my friend a resit.
I do find the tools useful and am using the book to give kids financial lessons....lol.19th March 2007 LBM£5,969.63 1st January 2018 £5960.18, 1st January 2019 £11,032.0018th August 2023 £12,435.00, Student Loan £22244.00 From 2009-12Challenges: To learn to stop spending..0 -
Glad your'e feeling better:D
Hope the baby is doing well now, :smileyhea she must have been tiny at 26 weeks, what a worrying time for your friend and her daughter. Amazing though how such tiny babies can survive and thrive with the help that is available in special care units now.0 -
Starting this course in November towards a Social Sciences and Economics degree!
Looking forward to it.
Hopefully, like the previous courses there will be a few of us on here to offer each other support!

What were the 2 courses that you did like (DB100, DB123) sophiesmum? I'm thinking of taking those courses along with another course I'm currently doing outside of the OU.Waddle you do eh?0

Suppose its down to personal interest really but I enjoyed DB123 as a bit of escapism. It also has no exam just a ECA so that's less pressure. If you like social sciences the KZX100 is a good one - its the online version of K100 with an online topic as part of assessment.
The course I enjoyed the least so far was DD100 which i have just passed with flying colours but found really boring.Hard to keep motivated when that happens.
I fancied a change this year so have opted for a literature course and another social science one - making social worlds.
What sort of stuff are you interested in?
Also did some of the 10point courses, human nutrition etc but for the amount of work needed not really worth the effort for 10 points.0 -
I want to do 90 points for my first year with the OU and over the next decade or so I plan to do a business studies degree and a law degree but I'm also interested in politics.
Thinking about it I may just go for an open degree. I'm interested in lots of things but the main thing is for me to get some work qualifications to help me to get a job when I'm able to work again.
I'm going to think about it more tomorrow.Waddle you do eh?0 -

If you are going to study with the OU the finance course is a nice one to start with, its not hard going and there are only 4 assignments to do.
Good luck if you decide to do the course:D
