Does anyone else have a child who is incredibly fussy about eating - I'm getting beside myself with annoyance at the continual battle over what to cook for tea for my DD and its now getting to be an issue - would really appreciate some advice on how to get her to eat food without all the " I don't want/like that" battles" - she is 10 now and still will only eat a few types of meals ie noodles and kievs, lasagne, noodles and kievs, toad in the hole, noodles and kievs - when she was a baby I fed here everything under the sun with the idea that I wouldn't have these probs now - she fixates on a food and will only eat that until she becomes sick of it - please help
Thank you

Woohoooooooooooo but pity I was not there
swapped days and just got back in with both SW's whose play was fantazmagorical
as a certain Strictly judge would say.
I love that word! What are we going to watch on Saturday nights when Strictly's finished:eek:

I was flying like a woman possessed this morning. Indeed I was posessed with CHAOS syndrome. Got downstairs and the upstairs bathrooms immaculate so I feel very pleased with myself.
Girls arrived at 1pm and we had pinot grigio, smoked salmon & rocket salad and ciabatta followed by strawberries with grated chocolate. We had a really good giggle and chat and have decided to set up a lunchtime book club in the new year.
Little ones had their christmas parties at school today and they are both a bit overtired and emotional. DH is away tonight so I think I will pop a pizza in the oven and put them to bed nice and early. I am shattered and may well join them:o.0 -
Helen, don't pander to her. Our kids have to eat what is served if they don't like it they go hungry. A child will not starve themselves to death and if they don't like something new the first time don't give up, Miss A and W have to try a bit of something new before they refuse it. Then next time they have to eat all that is on their plate (I out a bit and increase the amount each time). If she dallies over her meals then give her a time limit ie 15/20 mins to eat before removing it. W sometimes dallies and I threaten bringing it out for the next meal if it is not all eaten as I can't afford to waste food.
Bet I sound a right battleaxe :rotfl:Official Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -

I am one very proud mum!
The same school didn't nominate DD1 for any awards despite her doing her GCSE's with ME:mad::mad::mad:.
I think when DD2 leaves i will ask if i can make an award for achievement in the face of adversity!
Well done to DD2. That is a shame about DD1 and I think the idea of a new award is great :Thelen_jelly wrote: »Does anyone else have a child who is incredibly fussy about eating - I'm getting beside myself with annoyance at the continual battle over what to cook for tea for my DD and its now getting to be an issue - would really appreciate some advice on how to get her to eat food without all the " I don't want/like that" battles" - she is 10 now and still will only eat a few types of meals ie noodles and kievs, lasagne, noodles and kievs, toad in the hole, noodles and kievs - when she was a baby I fed here everything under the sun with the idea that I wouldn't have these probs now - she fixates on a food and will only eat that until she becomes sick of it - please help

Don't battle; don't fuss; don't allow snacks unless they are fruit or something else healthy. With food it's not just what is eaten at a 'meal' that counts it is all the other stuff throughout the day/week. Note to self Dusty kids eat too much chocolate
Been snowing here for a while but not settling on the roads.
Freezer all defrosted. Just going to see how far off dinner is from being ready as I'm hungry. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Hugs Gotno - and Pen Pen - awful news
DD is two teeth lighter and as high as a kite - she opted for valium. It was an interesting walk round Asda with her as we were waiting for her precautionary antibiotices to be dispensed. She couldn't really walk a straight line!
But motherly duty done. Just had to have an emergeny cheese sandwich - one poached egg, half a tin of beans and two slices of toast clearly were not enough fuel for me what with all that cleaning this morning. As soon as the wobbliness of low blood sugar wears off, I'll sort out more of the kitchen.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life
