£100 is a quite a sum to make a mistake but i like to think i would at least offer the person the chance to repay me the money they had lost me first then if they are not willing to pay for thier mistake i would have to complain to thier company.0

I would say "Give me 200 quid out of your own pocket and I won't take my complaint any further, oh, and I won't tell your boss that you tried emotional blackmail on me either!"
This might sound harsh, but if the agent is genuinely concerned about losing his job then it must be worth something to him and he should really be good enough at it not to be on a final warning. This way, if he pays up I am quids in and he gets to keep his job and, hopefully, he will learn that he has to take some responsibility for his actions.0 -

I would carry on complaining (isn't that a film?). If they're a half-wit and can't do their job properly, that's down to them, not me. If they are on their last warning, they have obviously messed up in the past and aren't up to doing their job.
If their act/omission hadn't cost me money, I would probably not bother complaining, but just tell them I thought they were an incompetent idiot. But the fact they'd cost me money - and a lot of money at that - would be unforgiveable.0 -
I would request my £100 back, they will have to pay it me or I will require it from the company.0

At the moment because of tight financial circumstances I would definitely continue with the complaint because I just can't afford to lose £100. If it was only a few pounds say less than £10 then I would probably write it off but I would take their name so that I made sure they didn't deal with any of my business in the future...!You should never call somebody else a nerd or geek because everybody (even YOU !!!) is an"anorak" about something whether it's trains, computers, football, shoes or celebs

In this scenario you are being asked to let go of £100 as a favour for a stranger who is either dishonest or incompetent and giving his firm a bad image. Are you the first he asked?
If the £100 doesn't mean much then why not get it back on principal and direct it to a genuine charity where it can do some real good. After all, the individual will get sacked soon enough, but how many more people would be out of pocket before the issue was finally dealt with?
I too would feel bad, but I also remember Martins' chapter on loyalty to firms, it simply doesn't pay to be emotianally involved.0 -

Entering into private repayment arrangements, scheduling the money, preparing to take employee and employer to court if there's a default, writing letters, making phone calls. . .
For £100,000 I could understand it. For £100 though. . .
Seriously though: rich or poor, the one asset we're all given for free is our time. And that's worth whatever value we place on it.
I certainly wouldn't "expend" more than a minute of my time on a scenario like this. :j0
