MF new target Dec 16 REACHED!! :j0 -
Just back from holiday so a late August update. Paid £938 for August, an overpayment of £500. Still managing to keep up these overpayments. New target for 2011 end is get the balance down to £6,000, was £10,000.
Sometimes I am tempted to reduce my overpayments, and make some inroads to reducing a 9K balance on a 0% CC (last years new kitchen) but my resolve is once again to be mortgage free as soon as possible.
I would like to encourage everyone to keep at it, you know it makes sense. :TMortgage free

Hi Cake,
Apologies for having been AWOL for a while, have had a few family issues to contend with. But, after careful budgeting this last month I am happy to have been able to overpay by £150.
The mortgage free dream is back on! I doubt that I will make my planned £1800  for the year. But my total overpayments are now £600 which is better than nothing!
Its great to still see so many inspiring stories on here!! Well done everyone!

managed to make an over payment of £1000. this month, so, so far i have OP £1800 this year.... fan- flipping- tastic...
i must admit i thinking of keeping hold the money:cool: BUT i went to the mortgage calculator and put in a one off payment of th 1k, and it told me i would save approx £651 in interest and 6 month off the term time... need i say this was the boot up the butt for me to let go of hte money:rotfl:
I think i will do this every time i manage to save/earn a bit extra...Work to live= not live to work0
