Well done Tesco Tom!!....and well done everyone else too.
£208 paid out as an OP today. Might squeeze a little more in a couple of weeks. On holiday in North Wales next week. When I've done buying my two little nieces icecreams, giving them pennies for the slots, letting them buy crap in the gift shops, I will reappraise and see if I can squeeze a further (but small) OP.
Enjoy your weekend0 -
Hi everyone,
Just a quick update. Last month I've managed to overpay by £500 :j. My daily interest is geting lower every month :j.
Good luck to everyone.0 -
Sorry, haven't updated for 3 months......where did that time go?
Have done ok(ish), overpaid by 1028.54 over the 3 months, not great but we've had our annual holiday in that time too. Really needed to be on £2500 by end of June so am £93 short of that.
Total overpayment ytd is £2407.62.
Keep up the good work everyone!
My aim is to save more and actually remember to update on a monthly basis!!!

July payment just off for this month. Paid £938, an overpayment of £500. Still managing to keep up these overpayments. I have beaten my annual target at the halfway point.
Even managed to buy a nice Sony LED TV this month as my treat. Absolutely stunning picture. Pay for it next month by selling some shares now available to me.
Sometimes I am tempted to reduce my overpayments, but my resolve is once again to be mortgage free as soon as possible. My balance is now well under 10k from a start in January of 15k.
My new target is to reduce my balance to £6,000 by year end.
I would like to encourage everyone to keep at it, you know it makes sense. :TMortgage free

Number 119 - £400 overpayment for July gone in0

#192 here with a "standard" OP of £500 for July.
Lots of uncertainty at work and may take redundancy, so not making any further OPs until I know what the situation is.What goes around comes around.....I hope!0 -
No. 113 checking in...
After a couple of months of making no progress I'm once again heading in the right direction with a June overpayment of £1395.44.
Cheers,

Hi
Although I haven't posted or paid anything off the mortgage recently I have been saving away! I have chosen to fill my ISA instead of overpaying at the moment as I get more interest on the ISA than I'm paying on the mortgage so it's making me money but if/when the interest rates rise and I'm paying more on the mortgage than the ISA I will use that money as an overpayment.
So with that mini challenge completed I am overpaying £1,000 this month :j

Update for July.
Still in process of re-mortgaging. Moving to Northern Rock and saving us £679.32 interest each month which I will carry on paying towards reducing the total once it all goes through.
Northern Rock side really quick and I had hoped to have it all completed early this week but guess what???? Halifax still haven't provided the conveyancing solicitors with a redemption statement, despite the title deeds being sent and 5 requests for the redemption figure so far.
Not happy, especially as they are making £39.33 interest out of me every day. GRRRRR:mad::mad:
Anyway as soon as that all happens my new mortgage total will be £240,000. So effectively a £3856 OP for July (out of savings) waiting to be paid once Halifax get their finger out.
Then I will be back to :j:j
Well done to everyone with their OP's this month so far0
