    Hi there

Joined today, have decided that 2011 will be the first year we actually end the year better off than we started it!! (Mustn't be too hard on ourselves - we moved to UK from overseas and had two children in past 5 years so have had a busy time).

Goal is to pay off £11000 in 2011, and aim to be mortgage free by 2020... watch this space:)

Updated spreadsheet for when mortgage comes out on Tuesday, even though we're knocking £1500 a month off the capital sometimes it seems so slow and demoralising.

One good thing though is that I have got OH well and truly onside so the OP is sacred now until I leave my current job (earliest 2014 at present) and hopefully for a while after that.

Does anyone else feel like it's a gnat's widdle in an ocean sometimes?

Well done everyone for doing so brilliantly!

Cake, I would like to change my target to £27,000 if I may, to take into account our savings as we are not currently overpaying.

Savings to date are £16,059 (not all saved this year I hasten to add!!)

    Thanks!

    Lady xx

Total (As my signature says) of 4.5k saved for Feb, a total of 9.5k for 2011. The reality is (I've said it for a few weeks now) is that it's not sustainable, we're simply using up all of our slack in the system as it were. That said, 9.5k is way more than we thought was possible, and it's really focussing our minds on keeping the costs to an absolute minimum in order to increase our savings. Aiming for 2.5k savings more by the end of March, which will be a great position to be in.
Feb 2012 - onwards MF achieved
