    Hello all,
First OP of 2011 just paid.
Only £50 because we've got a house project going on at the moment so our cash is being used to buy materials and pay our builder. The £50 comes half from Halifax rewards and half from money saved on bargain floor tiles.
Well done to everyone who is able to save / OP anything this month just think how many people are in their overdraft with huge credit card debts after Christmas!

    Fluffysox :p
2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.
    MFW OPd 2014 £2000 2013 £9700 2012 £2848.39 2011 £2509.58 2010 £11000 2009 £112002008 £4939 :D
Beautiful boys born May 2011 and October 2013 :)
  • Hi number 167 here, £338 pounds paid over this month. I am going to need to up that if I have any chance of hitting my target!!
    Mortgage @ 01.06.10 £165,999

    Hi All,

Fluffysox I'm afraid we have slipped into the overdraft this month. It's my own fault as I miscalculated the statement date for my Amex and ended up buying our joint Christmas present of a new music system in the Jan sales before the statement date meaning a much larger clearance payment this month than planned for.

I have been thinking about this and I think I'm going to reduce the scheduled amount for Feb and then catch up on the OP later in the year when we're back on a more even keel.

    All the best,
    Spigs

  • MFW 2011 - No.177 checking in with the first OP in 2011 for £700.00

I'm praying that the interest rates stay where they are for as long as possible to help maximise the OP potential. Good luck everyone.

official Bank Rate history since 1975

Current official Bank Rate 0.50 (its been lowest in history)(but house prices rocketed--any rise in interest rate hurts alot more)(thats why being MF will be great)

Easily done, at least it was in the sale ;) and on an arranged overdraft. My OH did his Christmas shopping two days after receiving his wageslip in December not realising the money hadn't gone in yet. (new job after a few months on Jobseekers) Anyway because he didn't have an overdraft arranged, Nationwide charged him nearly £40. Especially shocking when you realise he was only overdrawn for £35 for 2 days.

  • Well I was supposed to be saving up for an ISA but Santander are just taking too long so I shoved another £800 OP onto my Mortgage. I'll be paid very shortly and it will be a whopper (by my humble standards) so when Mr Santander finally gets his s**t sorted out I should still be able to pay in a sizable first chunk.

Quite excited - less than £3k off my £10k yearly challenge (runs from Sept to Sept). Ohhh, I know I can do even better in the coming months! Goooooo Teeeeaaaammmmm GOOOOO!

As payday approaches, I have looked closely at my budget.

I can only make overpayments of £500+ so am transferring my overpayments into a savings account until I can make a payment.

My total for January is £264, this is made up as follows:

Dec and Jan - no water rates to pay - £68
Left in current a/c at end of Dec - £16
Closed an old savings a/c -£180

Have filled in the google docs form.
