Number 190 checking in. £100 OP in January. In May 2011 my mortgage rate will drop from 4.69% to 2.5% (if interest rates stay as they are). Looking forward to that. Should save £150 per month. I want to live a bit so going to stick with my monthly OPs as planned and save the savings from my mortgage into my ISA just to top it up a bit and build on my rainy day savings. Trying not to become a slave to OPs! I'm pleased with £100 for January.0

My January update.......
1. My overpayment of £400 left my account on 17th January, reducing the mortgage balance to £48,891 (below £49,000; see my diary for the significance)
2. My Investment fund is now £14,824
3. My value for the endowment is £26,123
4. Overall current deficit is now -£7,944
My overpayments since Jan 09 will also save me an estimated £1,220 before my original target MF date of September 2014.
My overpayment reserve is £7,150 well over 18 months of regular mortgage payments.
September 2012 is now my new target date for mortgage freedom. The spreadsheet tells me that no more overpayments are required to do this, but I would then need to monitor endowment and investment progress carefully to achieve it.
Hope everyone else is on target.
Thanks to Cake, for keeping us all interested into 2011

Decided to hold off the payments for a few months and accumulate some savings for a rainy day (that I of course hope never comes!)
ps. is anyone else with Cheltenham and Gloucester? I find it so frustrating that you can't check your mortgage balance online, your payment amounts, your interest rate or anything else without calling them, ahh! For example my mortgage rate is supposed to drop, but I have no idea if it's this year or next, but again there's no way to find out without being in a lengthy queue process.
Hi yes, also with C&G and agree very frustrating not able to find facts and figures about my mortgage online. Previous mortgage with Halifax and was able to view balance on-line. Sadly wasn't so addicted to the mortgage balance as I am now, so didn't get full benefit from online information!!!0 -
