unreal why u cant look on-line

seeing it daily/weekly on-line has changed my whole financial outlook

    Tell me about it.

When I started to see my mortgage balance online (when we were with the Nationwide on a 10 year fixed rate) and saw it change daily, it really encouraged me to go for it.
The amount of stats you can generate from the info is great too.

Unfortunately, after re-mortgaging with FD (lower interest rate and no restrictions or exit fees), I now have to phone up for details.

  • Hi

I’m a newbie (although I have been lurking around for a while) and I hope you don’t mind if I join your thread. We am currently mortgage free (and we have been for two years) but from Friday we will have a mortgage of £185,000. We would like to pay this off as quickly as possible (within ten years if possible). I have joined because this seems a friendly forum, it is very supportive and has lots of good advice and tips. Everyone on here seems to be doing really well – it is very encouraging!

Hello, no 28 signing in here - just to say haven't made an OP this month, but hoping to put £2,200 into savings by the end of Jan :j! We are hoping to remortgage with FD in the next 6 weeks, which will involve a £1,800 get out fee from existing mortgage . However, it means we will save £180 pm instantly as will go from 5.09% rate at present to 3.89% fixed for 5 years, if all goes well. Managed to secure the funds just before they pulled it this week, but still need to send in all paperwork and have valuation, so will have to keep fingers crossed.

Congrats to everyone whose made an OP this month!

  • Well done Museum Worker - it's odd how you build up a picture of what a person is like, how having read your diary, I feel I know you. Makes reading these even more enjoyable. And good on you getting a 5 year fix - looks like I've missed the boat on that one but am hoping interest rates don't rocket in the next year, by which thanks to this forum and this thread, I'll have overpaid enough off to make interest rate rises not too damaging, even if they rocket up to a much higher level, say 10% *shudders*
