Hello all
I've just done the online form to give my overpayments for January. I may be cheatring a bit here but most of the 'overpayments' will in fact be amounts put into my ISA. I've transferred my money to a new ISA with the plan that the first £6000 (that I'd already saved) would be my emergency fund and anything over that will be available to pay straight off the mortgage when the interest rates go up. I have £301.96 over the £6000 so far.
I also plan to move cash from various savings accounts that re getting little interest and put them in the 'overpayments' pile.
Having said that I also made an actual overpayment this month of £550 - giving me a toal of £851.96 for January!:T0 -

If you need it do try giving your credit card company a ring and they might be able to reverse the payment or refund the part of it that is in credit. I accidentally paid a credit card statement twice once and got the second payment refunded no problem. :rotfl:
Thanks Simba, but i've now used £500 so the rest will get used pretty quickly :eek: it'll teach me to watch tv, chat and transfer money at the same time. I've enough in savings to cover me, thankfully.
Dithering Dormouse - i'm using ISA/savings as well for my "overpayments" as i'm in a fixed deal at the moment and can only make 20%(£90) of the monthly payments as repayments.
I managed another sneaky payment last night of £200 into my ISA so i've now paid £797.80 into my mortgage (£320 overpymt) in 2011.
I will go and fill the form in now as I don't think the next overpayment will be till the end of feb!Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -

No 220 (I think).
Have put in 5k this month, it's not usually going to be this amount every month (far from it!) but we're pleased (MrsOM and myself) with ourselves. Will try to overpay a decent amount in Feb too, but we're pleased with how we're doing - It's 1/12 done, and we've done 5/22 of the target, which is ahead of schedule.

April 2018 down to 28.00 months vs 30.04 months at normal payment.
Predicted mortgage clearing 03/2047 - now looking at 02/2045
Aims: 1) To pay off mortgage within 20 years - 20370 -
No 153 reporting.
Op's another £220. A little under target but will hopefully improve next month.

Remember, that's the base rate, so your mortgage provider would need a margin too, to make sure they see a profit.
I'm a bit of a youngster and think my highest mortgage rate was 8.95% back in the late 90's.
Sounds huge compared to the (hopefully) 2.5% BMR I'm about to drop onto.
