    Number 113 checking in.

November figure was £1,906.84 taking me down to £50,252.22 left to go. Bit gutted I didn't quite get under the magic 50k , but will at least manage that by the end of the year!

On the plus side, cost of the mortgage per day is now just £2. :)

    Cheers,

    Drew.

Oops, I've still been overpaying but forgetting to post on here.

    £83.01 O/P October
    £83.01 O/P November
    £83.01 O/P December
As my Mum always said "Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves"
  • Congrats Drewwa! £2 a day's fantastic. It's less than a cup of coffee!

I'm very envious as my interest is 17.5 a day, which seems an enormous amount (though it's going down slowly)

    Morning Everyone,

All updared to here including the googledoc updates.

Well done on the payment drewwa.

UnionGirl please would you confirm if you paid the same amount in September please? I have listed it as your post seemed to suggest you haven't updated for a while. I can easily amend and remove it if you didn't make an OP then.

Barny1979 your OP has been added too.

My mortgage offset savings of £600 went out today and I've updated my own figures while on the googledoc.

Keep up the great work everyone.

    See you later,
    Spigs

  • Hi

Last post for me on this thread as I declare a final OP of £880.00 which brings my total OP's for the year to £7257 - I beat my own target but largely down to receiving a bonus last xmas rather than scrimping and saving ;)

Have just been having a look as to how I've financed these OP's:-

Items in addition to my regular income:-
31.69% of my OP total was financed by my Bonus
2.41% was from Banking and Credit Card rewards (Halifax Reward accounts and Clarity Reward) & some of the interest I've earned.
    4.88% Cashback earned

    Items from regular income:-
32.08% was pilfered out of my savings. This account is actually an account in which I put away a monthly amount for one-offs and annual items, save up for a holiday and xmas etc. - if I spend less than I've budgeted by vigourous shopping around, if I've built up too much in this account then it either goes to a mortgage OP or a long term savings product.
28.94% is my Budgeted OP - ie. an amount that comes out as a Standing Order when I've been paid - it's almost like a Bill to myself.

So 7.29% of my OP's are as a result of being bothered to move money around to get rewards and interest, be bothered to get cashback, fill in surveys etc. £530 - well worth it. Moving my money around to maximise interest etc., ensuring that only the minimum is held in my current account earning 0%, is all possible because of Online Banking / Faster Payments and also a Spreadsheet I keep that allows me to predict what I'm going to need and when. A little time consuming but I enjoy it :rotfl:. So many times (not on here but in real life) I hear people say 'I can't be bothered - it's only an extra £x'.....yes but it's an extra £x in MY pocket. It's true - look after the pennies.....

I guess the worst part of these figures is that 38.98% of my OP's are not from my regular income and therefore cannot be relied upon in the next financial period :(

A HUGE well done to everyone for this years OP's.

And a huge well done to you too curlygirl! :T:T:T

I've updated you on the googledoc and I think just under 121% of target is a fantastic achievement. Look forward to saving with you in 2012.

Back in 2005 it was costing me £28.75 per day - keep plugging away, it does come down!

    Cheers,

    Drew.
