Its done! #119 is now officially mortgage free! It really is a great feeling to know that I completely own my modest little house and no one can take it away from me.
Being still relatively young(33), there may be further mortgages down the line but for the foreseeable future Im going to enjoy my new found freedom
For obvious reasons I wont be joining the 2012 challenge, but I will definitely pop in to see how you are all getting along. Since I joined the challenge a couple of years ago its really spurred me on and I dont think I would have reached my goal today without it. A big thanks to cake for keeping everything up to date!
Off now to have a celebratory cup of coffee!0 -
I hope it's a home brewed one and not an expensive one from a chain?! That'll be £2 saved for your next home fund then. Very well done by the way.Feb 2012 - onwards MF achieved

Thanks for the kind messages - it feels great but it hasnt fully sunk in yet!
I think it will hit me when I get my next pay!
It is a slog but whenever I started to get any doubts I kept thinking about all of the money I was saving on interest by overpaying, and also the security that comes with owning your own home outright - thats a feeling money cant buy.
Keep at it, you'll be so glad that you did!
Good Luck everyone0
