Last payment of this year and another overpayment of £500.
My target for 2011, balance down to £6,000, has been well beaten with only £5,102 outstanding. That's one part of mortgage finished.
I don't plan any overpayments for a few months while I focus on clearing a 0% CC before the 0% expires.
However, I aim to be mortgage free, this time for good, by end of 2012.
I would like to encourage everyone to keep at it, you know it makes sense. :TMortgage free

Well done sheslookinghot! Even without any more overpayments for the next few months, you are still in an awesome position mortgage wise if only £5,102 is outstanding. Could you possibly become mortgage free next year?
Anyway, I updated you on the chart. The target in that chart was listed as £6,000 for simplicity sake (it doesn't quite work if you don't state the amount you wish to OP rather than the amount you want your mortgage to be reduced to). I have reduced the target to £5500 to show that you have beaten it :T0 -
Update for December
MFW #48 reporting in...
Latest overpayment of 2011 was made on the 14th December 2011
Overpayment target: £1200
December overpayment : £10
Overpayments to date: £1220 (Target exceeded)
My overall mortgage status is now:
Mortgage at 17/09/2011
Outstanding balance: £46,744
Estimated endowment value: £27,401 (revalued 14 December)
Investments: £15,848
Deficit: -£3,495
For my information on the damage I'm doing to the mortgage, here's the link to my diary...
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...1854517&page=4
My overpayments since Jan 09 will also save me an estimated £1,300 before my original target MF date of September 2014.
My overpayment reserve is £7,970, now well over 51 months regular mortgage payments.
This is my last overpayment of 2011. There is a lot of uncertatinty in the world so the best laid plans could need revising. It has to be said that overpaying the mortgage was one plan that has been a 100% success, so thanks to Cake and the recent recruits for keeping the thread going to the end!
I wish everyone well and hope that many of you find the MFW 2012 thread useful. I will not be joining for 2012, mostly because I have a strategy that could involve paying off anywhere between £0 and £46,000. It depends on interest rates and investment returns (see my diary for details).
:xmassmileIn the meantime have a great Xmas and a prosperous 2012!:xmassmile
