  • Hi Guys

It's great to see so many new people joining in - the more the merrier!

Cake!!!! Could I change my target from last years £2000 to £6000. Please.

I exceeded last years target so I am aiming for £3000 in regular/ad-hoc OP's and then am going to use £3000 from my savings as an OP in the next few days

I have two financial matters to report since I last posted. One a minor disaster and one a major bit of luck

    Disaster
I don't buy much meat and when I do it's usually from a supermarket as I do my shopping at ridiculous times. Anyway as I was meant to be cooking for the BF's parents on Boxing day we decided to get a proper bit of meat from the butchers. I had no idea how much it would cost. You may as well have asked me how long it would take to get to the moon on a Penny Farthing and that answer would have been more accurate than my best guess at how much a Rib of Beef Joint for 4 people would cost. Wierdly my mum who has been buying meat for 50 years had no idea either. My mum kindly ordered it for me and as neither of us had a clue I gave her £25 (the cash in my purse). I asked her to order 'Rib of Beef, enough for generous portions for 4 people' and off she went to collect it a couple of weeks later. She returned with the meat and no change - infact I owed her a further 0.51p. It was as big as my thigh and I could barely carry it in one hand. "The Butcher said that's a very large joint for 4!". It transpires that when she ordered it she asked for '£25's worth'. I can't BELIEVE my mother did this. But I couldn't say anything. Even worse - our guests cancelled due to ill-health and we've been eating bluddy beef ever since. Flipping lovely joint though.

    Lucky me!
I'm one of those rare people in the UK at the moment - an ordinary worker in possession of a Christmas Bonus!! Am thrilled. As it wasn't expected and may be my last one I gave 20% of it as a cash gift to my 2 sisters, am taking the BF out for a meal, making a small charity donation and there is enough left to make an OP of £1500 on my mortgage in the next few days. DING DONG!

Will also be moving £1500 from my savings so this will make a £3000 lump sum in a few days. Lovely jubbley :D

Hope you are all well and having a splendid festive period. I've been waiting for time off work and a rest for ages - but in all honesty....I'm a bit bored!
