I have also ordered from this site 15.12.10 but have not received my items, I have emailed on several occassions but no reply todate - any suggestions?
  • Amanda, have they taken money from your account?
I hope you used a credit card and not a debit card, you find it easier to claim a refund on a credit card.
You can't go into dispute with thebigstore.co.uk unless they have taken money from your account and they have not sent goods to you. Normally this would be 10 days after they took the cash.
    Check with your bank.
  • Hi i ordered a jumper in early december and still have not got it, they wont reply to any of my emails and have took the money out of my account as a result i am going to report it to the police and my bank tomorrow.
  • I purchased a top for my Father in law on the 16 december 2010 and as yet have not recieved it. I have emailed them 3 times and i have not had a reply. I aint going to get my money back as i paid with my debit card.

    Do not use this website
  • Isn't there somewhere we can complain to at least stop this website taking more orders? They must be raking it in!
Although I think there is a better chance of contacting them than Tesco Credit Card Customer Services!!! I've tried for over a week now and all I get is their bl00dy automated voice telling me "my patience is appreciated"!!!!
  • Hi guys I don't know if this helps(first time on a forum),I have been taken for a ride pretty much the same as everyone else although I did receive 1 item then told the remaining items on the same order(2 remaining)would be cancelled(there was no mention of a refund on the email I received, just that the order was cancelled),I emailed the company 5-6 times and had no response and was even considering a registered letter then today saw this forum,on the advice of others I phoned my bank and they are refunding my debit card within the next 2 days then the company involved(the big store)get 2 months to dispute the refund(what the he'll I'm gonna make it as awkward for them as they have for me!!!).oh and for good measure I cancelled my card and my bank are sending me a new card within 5 days(just to make sure they cannot take anymore money,I know it's an inconvenience but I prefer piece of mind)!I placed the original order on 17th of November. If anyone is considering using this company do yourself a favour and pay the extra few quid down the high street and don't be as naive or gullible as I was!
  • I eventually got through to my Card issuer who rather surprisingly said that I would get a full refund (after filling out a claim form). Result!!
However it still does not stop these jokers from doing this again and again and again!!!!
  • i placed my order on 24 nov on 16 dec for no reason they cancelled.
and said i would get a refund in 4 or 5 days, that refund has arrived yesterday 10 Jan some 20 days late. I put it straight in my bank lets see if it clears, if not i still have the forms from the bank to claim my money back.
  • Hello... Well... Here's another one... I've lost out by £165. I ordered on 06/12/10 and initially communication was good - albeit putting my delivery off due to 'supplier issues'.

So today I visit thebigstore. co . uk - it's gone!! Nada!! Spookily enough I receive an email from a Gmail account, purporting to The Big Store themselves (alarm bells). It read:

    "Good Morning,

First of all if you have not been emailed since you purchased your order, then I can only apologise, we have been inundated with emails after Christmas and are still working through them.

At present your item/s have been re-ordered due to supplier problems and are due to be arriving between the 25th - 30th January, sorry for this delay but can assure you that your purchase will be dispatched between these dates.

Obviously you may not wish to wait and prefer to cancel, if this is the case then please email us and in the subject bar please write cancel along with your order reference number, this will help us to issue a full refund to you faster.

If you wish to continue then you do not need to email us, we have you on our system and your order will be dispatched as stated.

    The Big Store"

Having read other posts in this thread it would appear that a refund is merely a mirage.

I too have now reported the matter to Essex Police and am waiting on contact from them.
