I've got a hazy recall that if you earnt over a certain amount (£55,000 joint earnings is what I dimly remember) then you don't get anything. Does anyone know if this is true?

This is a link to the HMRC website regarding Childrens Tax Credit (not to be confused with the current Childs Tax Credit).

    http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/taxcredits/childrens-tax-credit.htm

This was administered as a change in Tax coding and so was dealt with by your local Tax office (there's a list of offices at the bottom of the page).

    Hope this helps
  • If you read my post above yours it explains that at the top of this page go six replies down and click on the link!!!
Then ring your local tax office and ask if your tax code had changed... tell tham the date of your childs birth..

There are NO FORM 11CTC's in circulation anymore... you need to rite to the tax office and ask them to manually open the claim for you!!!!

PLEASE PEOPLE READ THE POSTS ALL THE INFO IS THERE!!!

Thats not true in my case and many others... Not everyones tax code was changed!!!
So ring your local tax office and ask if your code was changed... in my case they owed me £622.00

Im not sure if it works for both parents who earn or if you have to make a single claim... I asked at the tax office and the gimp I first spoke to couldnt not clarify that for me.

Do not ask for a form 11 ctc as they no longer exist... remember time is running out for you to claim this money.

If you read my post you might note that I asked how they got you the form as you originally posted that they opened the form (which you had also said wasn't available any more) manually for you -
I wrote and got them to manually open the form

You obviously meant to write 'claim' instead of 'form', but didn't! Your post last night post makes this clear. :D

Hope you get your exclamation button sorted so it doesn't stick any more.
  • I phoned my local Tax Office this morning re this. They said I had received the extra allowance for 02/03 but had not claimed for 01/02. As I wasnt even aware that I had received the allowance for 02/03, would this have just been added to a wage one month? I dont ever remember getting any kind of extra in my wages. The lady I spoke to told me to write in and they will look into it for me.
