I bet the moaners on here who are against the rise in fees (upto 9k a year not 9k full stop) would have been up in arms when the poll tax was proposed. People took to rioting in London because they thought it was unfair that they may have to pay their fair share, the poll tax was a fair system because why should a married couple in one house pay the same as next door with three adults? the thick clowns couldnt get their heads round it then and they cant now.
one more thing, why should the rich pay for your extra education? if you want to better yourself then invest in yourselfBe Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0 -

To put it crudely, greedy councils simply applied the former ratable value to each adult. Thus, your family of 3 that was paying £1000, suddenly found it was paying £3000.
Which was of course impossible."Never underestimate the mindless force of a government bureaucracyseeking to expand its power, dominion and budget"Jay Stanley, American Civil Liberties Union.0 -
Well no more subsidising students.
Now, how about making children pay to go to school. Because I don't have children, why should my taxes subsidise somebody else's? If these kids want to 'better' themselves they bloody well ought to pay for it...0 -

I like to look at it the other way round. You get your own education free, and pay it back when you are earning.0 -

Maybe it'll stop students pi$$ing their student loans down the pub/clubs and actually use it to fund their education.
If students are so poverty stricken, then why do so many university prospectuses highlight 'nearby nightlife'? The number of bars in the 'student union' and similar facilities? Why are student areas filled with fast food joints, nightclubs and sleazy, overpriced bars?
These are indicative of plenty of ready money."Never underestimate the mindless force of a government bureaucracyseeking to expand its power, dominion and budget"Jay Stanley, American Civil Liberties Union.0 -

Not just a bunch of smelly wasters doing medja studies to get out of entering the real world for 3 years.
But let's not forget that the layabouts are only taking what's on offer. And who created this lunatic situation? Currently, taxes go towards subsidising students university education even though it is a choice.
Choices need to be paid for by the people, not by others.
You want the choice to drive, you pay for a car.
You want the choice for a house, you buy a house.
You want the choice for a boob job, you pay for it.
The fact is, with this, the taxes will no longer subsidise those that do go to university, making it exceptionally fair on those that do not go to university.
University isn't the only option out there to "better yourself".0 -
Does anyone know what these tuition fee rises will mean for those who want to do postgraduate study such as doctorates?
1. Choose a subject where you can get sponsorship easily i.e. not an arts subject
2. Pay for it yourselfI'm not cynical I'm realistic
